I have been blessed to live in what I'd describe as a photographic rich environment. I have photos, both new and old, that I'd like to share with my friends on GT. I hope you enjoy them. These are all nature photos of the area in which I live. I'll be adding to this tread over time. Check back every now and then.

Lets start with photos from today:

I apologize for the quality on some of these images. They are all cellphone camera shots. Maybe next weekend, I can pull out the Olympus for some better quality photos.

Cropped up the earlier photo.

Looks a little better because the halo from the sunset was removed.

A fellow GT'er reminded me of an older Fairhope Pier photo I took. I always liked it - still occasionally does service as my computer desktop. Hope you like it too.

As March 1 dawns, much of the nation has received the brunt cold of a late winter snow.

So today, this Sunday, Alabama brings you the promise of Spring.

I've done it before

Man, I just want to curl up under those with a book and spend the afternoon there! I love knarly, old trees with lots of character like that.

Getting down in the middle of the stump with a fisheye could be an interesting perspective too...

I wish we had trees like that around here. :)

A little picture fun for the GT crew.

This little website lets you dress up photos.

For example - using Marylin - The Illegal Cat.

All Alabama is Southern. That which is particularly close to the coast is better referred to as LA (lower Alabama) or the wiregrass (say: whăr-grass). :winkie:

Very nice pics, btw.

Do you have it in focus?

The old digital camera doesn't do as well in bad light, no flash and no tripod.

Some of these other photos are right off the cellphone.

WOW!! Bringing back the memories for me!! I did a 7 month assignment at Brookley field back in 01. I lived in Daphne. Love that part of the country! Visited Ft Morgan and Ft Gains many times while I was there. Broke my heart to see the Katrina damage. I'd love to retire down there!

How about some pics of the forts?
