View Full Version : Who tumbles with a cement mixer?
I need to clean XXK cases and want to do it quickly.
I was going to get the big Dillon but F' it! I have a small unit for my small batches.
What size , how much brass and media are you getting in em and time run?
i use a cheap one from northern tool. less than 200$ shipped to me a few years back. i use a mix of corn cob and walnut media along with some new finish cut with mineral spirits. takes about 10 gallons of media and 2 or so gallons of brass. as for run time i turn it on for a while then go back when i think of it, maybe 2 hours or so. not a lot of time is needed to clean the cases. i usually end up with around 30 gallons of brass at the end of the year to clean. i do it in one weekend then put everything away until next year.
Ask Fabricator. He has a big mixer that he uses.
Which one from HF do you have? They have two now, a smaller one then a regular sized one.
How many cases do you need to tumble and how fast ? One or two of these should fit the bill
the large model will tumble 1000 30-06 cases at a time
That be like 10 batches...
that's what i use. it was a bit cheaper when i bought mine.
We use a plastic drummed mixer (Kolbalt maybe? ) we found at Lowe's; coated the metal blades with truck bed liner. It works great. It handles 5+ gallons ( of brass ) at a time with no problem. Corncob from Grainger's. Locknut the blade screws on really good though.
Now, THAT's funny! Thanks for the chuckle!!
harbour freight one and 400-500 50bmg
