Okay Big Dawgs,
I took your advise and got the 30 (Great Gun), but it's a little too thick for a CCW on my body frame, so now I am also looking at complimenting my 30 with a 36, I have read several things both negative and positive about this gun, and I am calling on your advise once again.
Now one other little issue is I will be either trading my 23 for a 36 or Keeping the 23 and doing a layaway on the 36, any thoughts?
Thanks ahead of time for the advise
Jim
For me, the difference between the G36 and G30 is far greater than between a G30 and a G21. Besides the obvious size difference the G30 and G21 are quite mild to shoot as .45's go while the G36 is quite snappy. I can shoot a G21 or G30 "all day" but I'd prefer not to with a G36.
My vote is keep the G23 and at least shoot the G36 before you lay it away. It isn't much harder to ccw a G23 than a G36, has higher capacity, and its easier to shoot IMO. I know selling a gun you generally like is a difficult decision. But if its slightly slimmer profile is more important than anything else, its worth checking out. Personally I feel the G36 is for die-hard .45 fans who prefer .45 to anything else.

I found this to be true also, especally in the grip. I traded my G30 for a 36 outright!! I carry the G36, whereas, the 30 was left at home in the safe!! ;) Get the 36!! ;f

The G36 is only .1" thinner than the G30, yet you give up the ability to use G21 mags for backups. The G36 is unique to Glocks, in that it's not part of a "family", where mags from the larger models are compatible with the smaller models.
I handled, but didn't shoot,a G36 when they first came out. I just don't want a revolver-capacity Glock that recoils/has more muzzle flip than any of my other Glocks. I know people from 110# women to 300# men who comfortably carry the G30. (I'm somewhere in the middle of that group)
I'd personally prefer a G26 for concealed carry, as opposed to a G36.
Walter, that's precisely why I kept my G27 instead of trading it for a G36.

I have a 21, 30 & 36. I am more accurate with the 36. It's what I carry.

Good choice. I also have both the 23 and the 36. Carry both and shoot both very well.:)
The G36 has the hardest snap of any Glock I've ever shot including the 10mm and 357 sig models.
Thin backstrap.
Buy one used with trijicons and a holster for $450 used instead of $499 NIB.
They show up regular around my gun shops. What does that tell you?Once seen two G30s in two years between five shops.

I have a glock 23 and a glock 36 I carry my glock 36 12 hrs a day in IWB sidearmor, at the range in QWB is glock 23, you see, this is my set up, and a Tomcat 32 in my pocket.

Have owened 2 36's. Good concealed carry gun. Recoil is not gonna bother you unless you are very sensitive. Did pinch my finger but this is really a non issue for me in a ccw gun. I shoot enough to stay sharp and don't worry about the negatives mentioned. They do have trouble with blunt nose ammo , mine absolutely will not chamber wad cutters, have not had any problems with any type jacketed ammo. If you want a 45 that conceals as well as a 19, is very accurate and reliable and fits most holsters made for the 26 and 19, go for it.
Good Glokin, Rick
For a sheer CCW only gun, YES.
But don't expect to shoot 200 rounds through it in one session.
With some high veolocity rounds, it snaps and bites harder than my G20 and G32s!

I traded my 36 for a 30 and never looked back. To me the 30 is more versatile and is just as easy to conceal as the 36.
I had a G21 for awhile & have put some rounds through both the 30 & 36. For what I needed, the 36 just fits me perfectly. Get the 36 & enjoy it!! ;)
