View Full Version : Pics of a G30 with 9 round mag and or other extensions?
Anybody have a pic of a G30 with the flush 9 round mag, also interested in pics of the pearce and scherer extensions. How does a G30 with the flush mag compare height wise to a G26/27/33 frame? thanks.

The 10-round Pearce extensions are awesome, I have them on all my ten rounders. They did a great job of designing them, looks like the gun came with them.
I don't see the point of extensions on the 9-rounders. You give up a round to get a flush fit, reduce the butt profile for CCW. The extension pretty much negates that, doesn't it?
Thanks for the pics MildBill and loki!

The extension on Mild Bill's G30 is longer than the extension on Loki's G30, 9rd mag. Look at the back bottom of the grip on both. When I went looking for a Pearce, the dealer showed me that all it did for a 9 rd mag was make it the same size as a 10 rounder. I haven't seen one like Loki's that is flush with the grip in the rear but with a little finger do-dad on the front. That's what I need. I can't hold on to the grip with a flush 9rd mag...it also pinches. I may just get a Pearce tomorrow so I can use the mag. - 'ole joe

The mag bodies are the same on the "9 round" and "10 round" magazines.
The floor plate type determines whether the mag holds 9 or 10 rounds.
Personally, I find the 10 round Pearce baseplate to be the best, as it looks like it was made for the gun (textured checkering is the same as on the grip), doesn't pinch your little finger (unlike the Glock factory baseplate), and is made of better matched, more resilient polymer than the crappy, brittle Shearer 10 round baseplates.
The 9 round baseplates, with or without finger rest, hold no appeal for me. I have no difficulty concealing the G30 with either the 10 roud or 9 round baseplate, and I don't want to give up any rounds, so why use the 9 round baseplate? If you can carry the G30 concealed at all, how can the 10 round baseplate make a significant negative difference? To each his own, but I don't see the attraction of the 9 rounders. Best.

Are you high?
The nine round and the ten round g30 magazine are night and day different. The floor plate has nothing to do with how many it holds. (It MAY look that way from the side, but you are way off)

It conceals better. Almost like a G26. Also the smaller Pearce mag floor-plate w/finger hook for the G30 turns out to be listed by Pearce as for the G29/30 but not the other way round. I have two on order and pics will follow. - 'ole joe ;P

I stand corrected. They do look the same. You mean the mag bodies are different for the 9 and 10 rounders? (I've seen the 9 round magazines but not owned one.) Live and learn!
