I just took my G30 to the range a 2nd time and had quite a bit of ftf's.The first time I had no malfunctions and was using some og my reloads up.This time I was using Magtech ammo and Winchester white box HP's.I've used Magtech in almost all of my pistols in .40cal-.45acp and never had a problem.@ of the magazines were new and 2 were original, all Glock factory 10rd.Has this happened to anyone and/or is there a quick fix?
had the same thing with different ammo when newrecoil assembly was installed - shooting about 300 rds cured the problem
Have recently purchased the 30 also and my first experiance was just as disapointing. 50 rounds of cci blazers and 3 ftf later, I put it in the box. After a good cleaning , I noticed the slide is extremely tight. Is this a good thing, does it need broke in???? All my other glocks, and my sons 21 all were fine right out the box. SEND ME INFO<PLEASE

Mine wasn't new.It had 500 rounds through it previously but functioned fine with my reloads when I first got it.The ammo seemed to get hung up on the feed ramp so maybe I'll polish it a bit.
I have had my G30 about two months now and only have maybe 600 rounds through it. They include, Winchester White Box, CCI Blazer, Winchester 185gr JHP and it hasn't missed a beat. I clean my G30 and G19 extremely well after each trip to the range and lubricate it exactly as the all-wise Glock manuel says. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, for you may do that too. I do know that I have had no FTFs with either my 19 or my 30. The 19 has had many, many rounds through it both casual and stress fire. - 'ole joe

I just stripped mine down again and lubricated the recommended spots.I inserted a loaded magazine and racked the slide a few times. The problem is the slide actually sticking in the rear position and not a bullet getting caught up on the feed ramp.I can pull back the slide on the gun w/o a magazine in it and it will stick open even though the slide lock is disengaged.A slap to the rear of the slide will bring it back to battery.Anyone have a clue whats going on with it?
I've only had my g30 act up once. I was using Winclean ammo, and had around 10 ftf(feeds) in 300 rounds. I'm not one to bash any particular brand of anything, but no more Winclean = no more ftf.
NEVER had ANY problems before or since.
All hail the mighty G30.

I've had mine FTF with Winchester White box FMJs. Remington and S&B, and CCI Blazer, however, all work just fine. Might be a little buildup on the feed ramp, had that happen to me once. Some scrubbing with a brass brush and ta da, no more problem. Hadn't cleaned that particular spot in a couple of shooting sessions (Forgot) and it got dirty.

I think maybe if my slide stuck to the rear w/o a mag in it I would send it to Glock and let them handle it. Sometimes 'things happen' even to Glocks. Just my .02 - 'ole joe
My Glock 30 did the same thing, FTF and slide locking back w/o a mag. I completely disassembled my pistol and checked out my slide lock. I discovered that the trigger pin has to be installed from the right side to left to have the slide lock spring set correctly by the pin. I have had no failures since then. I must have put the pin in from the wrong side when I installed my smooth face trigger.
 After my first trip and 4ftf's out of 50 with cci blazers,I took the 30 down and gave it a good cleaning and lubed to "book of gaston specs". Back to the range we went with same loads and high expectations. I was not disappointed as it performed flawlessly thru 100 rds.:) :) :) Guess we just needed to get better acquainted. Gotta love those glocks. Thanx for your feed-backs.. ohio;f ;f ;f

I'm having this same FtF problem and I am extremely frustrated with the gun.
My G30 fires Ball ammo flawlessly and has fired both 50 rounds of CCI Blazer and 300 rounds of Speer Lawman ammo without fail.
I have yet to find a reliable JHP round that I haven't had a failure on.
I've tried:
Speer Gold Dot 185gr. +P (40 rounds)
Speer Gold Dot 185gr. (20 rounds)
Speer Gold Dot 230gr. (20 rounds)
Federal EFMJ 200gr. +P (50 rounds)
Corbon 230gr. +P (20 rounds)
In every one of those types of ammo, I've had at least 1 or two Feeding failures. I'm not limp wristing, and it doesn't do this with ball ammo. There is some type of failure that I can't find and it causes the slide to stop halfway back to battery with a round halfway up the feed ramp. It only does this on hollowpoints.
Any ideas? The pistol has been detail stripped and cleaned very well and is lubed. Should I try polishing the feed ramp?

I had FTFs and failure to extracts with my first 200 rounds of my G30. Most of it due to the Blazer ammo's aluminum case. Once it was broken in, the only time this manifests itself is when I don't clean it regularly (or when I limp-wrist it).
FWIW, I now have over 18,000 rounds shot through that G30. I also shoot mostly Blazer ammo nowadays (had to get away from the Wolf ammo). So don't despair, let it break in and pretty soon you won't even know what an FTF is. If you are still having a problem with it at around 500 rounds, I'll buy it from you. ;f
Good Luck!!
