View Full Version : Carry laws for Georgia...
Okay, maybe you Georgians can help me out here.
I am a CCW holder in NC, I often come down to visit friends in Georgia,
I hear if you have a CCW and go to a restaurant that serves alcohol that you MUST conceal your firearm at all times... that open carry is prohibited... is that true?
That is not in the law any more, since it was changed last year. But it's probably a good idea. The president of Georgia Carry.Org recommends it until this summer. See http://www.georgiacarry.org/cms/georgias-carry-laws-explained/frequently-asked-questions/#Method_of_Carry
No one needs to know that your packing heat anyways. You are packing for your protection and for those around you. You are not packing to draw attention to yourself, at least I hope that's not the case.
The way understand the law is if the restaurant derives less than 50% of its income from alcohol it is ok to carry, if it is strictly a bar it is not ok. Also you can not drink any alcohol and carry.
