Feb 16. Do not count three months waiting period. There are 90.000 applications for CCW in Florida.

you just had to spoil my hopes didnt you? is there anyway of knowing when to expect it? I know that I probably wasnt going to get it on the 90 days but just trying to establish a timeframe.

A friend of mine just got his, took 86 days from mailing it. They received my app 1/2/09 and I am still waiting. Based on my friends time, I should see it in about 2 weeks or so.

They supposedly just hired a bunch of new clerks to help process the backlog

can I judge the time left by when they cash the check?

Give it about 45 days from the time they cashed your check and give them a call. The number is on their web site. Here is the link: http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/contacts/faq.html#Q2

At least this way you will have some idea where you stand in the process. Be patient, It will come.

If you did the electronic fingerprints it shouldn't take over a month, that's assuming they aren't behind...mine took less than two weeks a few years ago. Good luck...

I'd say yes.

When I called them a few weeks ago I was told by the clerk that the 90-day window begins when they cash your check. I've been waiting since 2/12 for my check to be cashed.

I had sent my application on 8/22/08, on 9/9/08 they cashed my check. I received my license on the weekend of 11/7/08. I did use electronic fingerprints to expedite the process. My son sent his a week after I sent mine; he received his license in early December. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I donít know if it was a factor, but I actually called them to confirm receipt the week before they cashed my check. Perhaps they pulled it out of the stack to check and got processed faster? I donít know.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
If you do go to their website youíll find a news bulleting saying that the number of applications they process has increased by 165%.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Patience has never been my forte; I kept checking the mail daily and getting upset each time because the license wasnít there. Then I got it and waited over a week before I actually used it, imagine that! :)<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
So have you received yours yet?<o:p></o:p>
