hmmm.... dapat ata ikaw ang magsabi niyan kasi yung last time kita nakita pumutok parang full auto yung CZ mo :D
Off topic din..... Allegra, I sent you a PM

Anyway , di nako napunta sa range might as well teach it here baka makatulong sa newbies
Yung mga magagaling na , please skip this thread at bawal kumontra heehee
Anyway , I often get asked alin uunahin bilis o accuracy?
Standard answer is accuracy muna
I got this drill from the BE forum galing yata kay TGO
25m , 5 shots from draw , dapat all A's
Nga lang , time limit is 4sec :)
I'll leave it to the shooter kung paano nya magagawa yan , kasi ang dami info makukuha sa youtube about draws , stance , grip , etc.
Bahala ka na how yu will put 5 shots sa A zone from the draw in 4 sec.
Just think about it
If you can do that , kailangan pa ba itanong kung alin mauna?
There almost nothing they can throw at you sa mga level 3 na katatakutan mo
The drill will force youto shoot w/ your eyes ng mabilis kasi mahirap chamba sa 25m
Magandang warmup before a match kasi it will remind you to see what you need to see
Someone told me , bumagal daw putok nya when he started this drill
Of course it will sa simula , kasi masasanay ka tumingin sa sights at speed keysa turo ka lang ng turo ng baril sa target ng wala nakikita
Babalik din yung bilis
Someone told me bakit instead of 1 target , dapat 3 targets w/ 2 shots each?
Kasi pag 2 shots each target , pwede chumamba yung second shot
Impossible chumamba all 5 shots
Plus I prefer practicing target to target drills dry ( kasi mostly your training your eyes to sight acq ng mabilis )
Anyway , if you can do this drill easily pero talunan ka pa rin
Isa lang ibig sabihin nun...... mahina dibdib hehehe
Anyone dito sa BOGs who can do it sa first try?

Anyway , I'l be away from shooting ng matagal kaya might as well post nalang sa BOGs
Problema ko ngayon sa utak...for the past 2 months, I've been shooting a lot of whites (No Shoots). Sa tagaytay may 2 targets covered with 2 NS, mga 20 meters. I shot 2 shots each, then verified na isa lang tumama....nagisip muna ako kung uulitan ko...by the time I made up my mind, mga 5 seconds na ata lumipas! :crying:
Are there any drills to help me get out of this mental slump?
Allegra, this has been one of the better topics of late, salamat sa pag tulong mo sa aming mga mortal:supergrin:

No need to put no shoots sa 25 m fafa
Distraction/panakot lang naman yung no shoots
Shooting A's ng 25m at a short time forces you to look at your sights and push your trigger control to the limits
I think your aiming at the whole target kasi , kaya kalat ang tama mo
Or mentally natakot ka dun sa mga no shoots kaya na apektuhan ang trigger control mo ( subukan mo rin mag yabang , it helps :))
Either way , doing this drill will solve most problems pati sa bakal
kung ako'y nagtitipid at I have 30rnds a week to practice lang
Puro ito lang ang gagawin ko
Everything else , movement , target to target , shoot on the move , mag changes , take off at shooting papasok sa port etc can be practiced dry
Kung ako nagtitipid :) w/c is most of the time
Di ko naman sinabi , you have to do this in one practice
25m , 5 shots all A's from the draw ang goal
Skill at confidence builder
If you can do that everytime , lahat na dadali
Shooting on the move , bakal , swingers konting practice lang madali na gawin

As long as I ddint see the sights lift off the target di nako nag iisip, automatic pinuputukan ko na agad
O basta may duda ako , di tumama , automatic putok agad
At least additional .20 to half second lang nadagdag kesa sa 5 sec mo pag verify
Jan mejo sugal hehe
ya, medyo nasisindak/kinakabahan ako sa NS. This was not a problem at all before, parang bigla nalang dumating. Noon I don't even notice the NS, I just look for the Alpha and release the shot. It feels like that Kevin Costner movie Tin Cup, just like that, bigla nalang siya nag sh-shank. Ako naman, after hitting NS a few times the past few weeks, bigla nalang akong kinakabahan sa kanila:crying:. It's all in my mind....
It was an easy stage...3 boards sa kaliwa, 3 boards sa kanan, then 2 boards w/ NS. Pag dating doon sa 2 boards, instead of just shooting the static, I was avoiding the NS.
I had 2 horrible mental mistakes. Nag verify ako tapos hinde ako maka decide kung puputukan ko ulet o hinde na (I was the second shooter for the day, kaya malinis pa yung board, kitang kita na iisa lang butas hehe). The sight picture was acceptable, it was the trigger pull that went wrong. Parang pag pindot ko sa trigger, I was pulling the gun away from the NS. It felt like my knees became weak pag dating doon sa targets, parang natakot to screw it up. I did well with the first 6 targets, pag dating sa last 2 with NS, my brain said "o-o, ingatan mo, may No-SHoot yan!" which is also the same as saying "patay na!" hahaha!!. Hinde ko alam, I think I'm getting senile.
The funny thing was after that stage, I decided to just go for it. Just aim at the Alpha and let the shot go. Sinubukan ko yung "yabang", told myself I'm good and accurate, and to stop thinking. Guess what happened? The target was maybe just 8m away. Pak talaga! :steamed:
Another funny thing was that after back to back horrible stages, I started to shoot well. Kasi I gave up trying and just went back to shooting. Sa isip ko the match was over for me, super bagsak nako sa standing. Parang nawala bigla yung kaba ko, I relaxed more and shot I like I didn't care, surprisingly mas gumanda putok ko. Sayang lang nga I screwed up in the long stages, and did well in the shorter stages so hinde nako naka habol.
Allegra how do you tone down your brain? My best shooting was when I wasn't thinking, I was using "the force", pero I can't seem to summon "the force" at will. Minsan minsan lang dumadating, when you least expect it.
Kung mahilig ka magbasa , get yung Inner Game of golf , Tim Gallway
Meron daw tayong Self 1 at self 2
You have to understand that self 1 , boses lang yan , hindi makatulong sa putok mo
Daming inuutos sayo.
Tell Apollo to STFU :)
Blanko dapat utak , ng di malito katawan

it was the worst shooting i did for this year
great tips from allegra, but i think its bec. madami na sobra inaasikaso si ahtsay kaya distracted sa shooting, think of what is different now and a few months back! hehe, i think stressed out ka sobra sa work kaya ganyan, hehe.

Allegra, can this be done with an airsoft, shorter distance, reduced taget and the PAR time on the timer ala dry firing? Kinda neat to be able to practice it more often at the back yard. ;)
After that drill here is one i used to do from lito. Last time i did this was maybe 2006
3 targets 25 meters 3 meters apart. Hands relaxed gun in condition 1. At the beep, draw and shoot 2 rounds at each target.
Your goal is no deltas and with a time of less than 4 seconds from the draw. yes you have to draw. I used to do this at around 3.5 seconds
i had a record with all A's that just happened. nothing forced. Wont mention the time anymore since baka makadiscourage new shooters since we were all surprised even me. Thought di nagregister sa timer but all shots were accounted for even lito was surprised since siya ang nagtitime.
Good luck to you aspiring shooters
Fafa A,
Hingi naman po ako ng tips for Level 2 and 3 matches:
(1) Mindset and Mental Games:
On our fist shooting day at the Nationals, I had zero points in one short course (9 rounds). Any practical tips to recover on the next stage (e.g., treat the next stage as a new match, magdasal, etc.)? Any tips to save the match?
Any tips to deal with match stress? Or wag masyadong mag-isip na Level 3 yung pinuputokan? Use the “force”?
(2) Accuracy or speed? or both?
The courses at the Nationals were generally low hit factors requiring accuracy. On our first day of shooting (5 stages), I had 4 mikes. On the next shooting day, we finished 9 stages. I slowed down and had only 2 mikes in all 9 stages. However, the down side to accuracy is that my times were slower. Napansin ko sa mga videos namin is that I slowed down sa mga short courses and even in the long courses. Accuracy was good but the problem is that my times in the long courses would have equalled to 1 or 2 mikes.
Ang tanong ko: accuracy or speed? When do I sacrifice a few points for faster time?
Ahtsay,
Bro, could it be match stress? Ako naman takot ako sa steel plates. Sa isang stage ang lapit ng plato (I think 2nd stage ata sya, the one where you open the door that activates the swinger), hindi ko matamaan. Good thing is that I was able to recover that next stage.
Jasonub,
Masama pa putok mo that match and yet you finished 6th overall! Congrats! Dami kong natutunan squadding with you  (Turuan mo kaming mga pato hehehe :tongueout:)
GMV, that stage was my best of the match. I think I ranked 3rd on that stage next to Eric C and Jasonub. Hinde ko alam, but everytime a good shooter goes ahead of me, I shoot better. Parang na gagaya ko yung shooter in front of me. Nelson Uygongco shot before me; parang na ingrain sa utak ko yung ginawa niya, kaya parang na emulate ko. hehe!! Hirap ng shooting, puro mental. I remember that stage clearly dahil my mind was relaxed but aggressive. I was on offense instead of defense. I was thinking of attacking instead of "don't miss" mentality.
Mahirap sa bakal once you have re-engaged it a few times. Mas lalo kang natatakot as you keep re-engaging. I think an aggressive mentality on steel is good.
On the next stage, stage 1, I screwed it up. In order to refrain from moving one step (to engage yung nakatago na plato sa bundok), I chose an awkward shooting position where I can see all targets from that one point. Ayun, puro re-engage. It might have been faster to have a nice shooting position and just move to the left to engage the hidden plate.:crying:
I think the goal is not to "slow down", everytime you think slow down, that's what will happen. Takbo mo, change mags, draws, even shooting will slow down...which is not good. I think the mind set should be to "see more", for us standard shooters it would be to see more of the sights. I guess for you modified shooter, it will be to see more of the red dot.
Allegra this has been the best thread for a few months now.
Jason anong time mo? It won't discourage us, it will inspire us:tongueout:
this is nice.. dami good pointers galing sa mga magagaling..
Thanks.
Ahtsay,
Stage 1 was one of my better stages (just down 2, but medyo mabagal [22sec.]). May advantage yung mga matatangkad because of their wingspan. nakikita nila yung plates na nakatago sa gilid ng bundok in just one position. As i am vertically challenged, i had to side step to the right to see that hidden plate.
Very true with the steel plates. Once you have missed, nakakasira ng diskarte. I think si pogi ata nagsabi na it's better to take a little more time aiming than taking the miss.
On slowing down, it was more of taking a bit more time aiming on 20-25 yard paper, steel plates, and those with no shoots but same pa rin movements, mag changes, etc. Hindi kasi pwedeng "bugahan"/paulanan ng bala. Tapos points wise, as much as possible, you really shouldn't miss on short courses. Otherwise, laglag ka agad.
In all, the nationals is so far my best Level 3. Ang dami kong natutunan from my squad mates and from watching the top seeds. Masaya din yung awarding ceremony. Sarap ng pagkain :)
Haha!! I missed the kainan, pero matindi din si Jasonub sa kainan eh :tongueout:
GMV, 22 seconds for stage 1 is really good, at least for me. I would have given up my right kidney for a time of 22sec for stage 1, hehehe!!
BTW, me and Ans3288 did the drill today. Since the range wasn't long enough, we estimate the targets to be at around 22meters away. We are able to shoot 5 shots in less than 4 seconds, mga 3.6-3.8, however the best we could do was 3A-2C. Our best time to hit all 5A was around 5.5 seconds. I noticed that I was compromising my trigger pulls for speed thats why I can't consistently hit Alphas. The sight picture is there, its the trigger pull that was keeping me off the A's. After 2 hours of trying, we gave up and decided to practice shooting on the move nalang:supergrin: We also did some bill drills at around 12meters. Surprisingly, we can get all 6 shots on paper in less than 3 seconds....mga 2.6+. Medyo confidence booster kasi I can't see much of the sights at that speed and the draw is crucial pero tumatama sa papel.
speak for urself!!! i couldt hit 5 alphas, the best i got was 4As and 1C!!! :crying:
alam ko bill drill is done @ 7m, not 12m!!! since ur putting in all 6 shots sa target board, i suggest dont look at ur sights anymore!!! joke!
nice practice, sana maulit! :)
Haha!! I missed the kainan, pero matindi din si J

the usual prActice session na ginagawa ng shooter , iba iba
May basic, may while moving , swingers, close targets, plates , poppers etc
dami variety pero wala namamaster
I was thinking of just one drill na pag namaster mo na , shifting to other drills/shooting scenarios will be so easy
Un nga if you can do the drill easily , ang dali na putukan ang bakal, swingers ,far, close targets etc.
Kahit anong tARGET ang puputukan mo the basics are still the same-
sight acq
sight alignment
trigger control
follow thru
Pag ang basics are all done subconsciously dahil sa dami ng beses mo sya ginagawa , kahit ano itchura ng target , you can hit it
Allegra, can this be done with an airsoft, shorter distance, reduced taget and the PAR time on the timer ala dry firing? Kinda neat to be able to practice it more often at the back yard. ;)
no need for a timer kasi wala naman recoil management pag airsoft
pero maganda for sight acq , trigger control, at target to target drills

Dun sa question 1, you can think of each stage as a seperate match
or
what I do is think positive
He said right until the referee stopped the fight, pakiramdam nya kaya pa rin nya manalo
Yan ang positive thinking! hehe
Mahirap gawin yan lalo pagmalaking match
But thats what makes competition so addicting
2. accuracy o speed?
Wrong question to ask
You only shoot as fast as your eyes can see
Do my drill paulit ulit ulit mapapractice ka to shoot as fast as your eyes can see :)
disclaimer :)
I could be wrong, tagal ko na di naputok
Feel free to disagree guys

I taught myself to swim for a triathlon from a book
One way of teaching myself is watching videos of olympic swimmers sa youtube.
Pagdating sa pool , I visualize the movement from memory
Ayun , muntik nako malunod :) just kidding.
Panuorin niyo galaw ni nelson, jag, rico, jason, lito, lyndon, tootsie, gino, etc etc
Observe nyo lang , your mind will memorize automatically at gagayahin ng katawan nyo.
Slower, faster, see more , see the sights, find the dot ......too much intructions fafa
assuming you practiced before the match, dapat pagdating sa match ang goal mo nalang ay blankohin ang utak
Tama na last minute instructions. Self 2 already know what to do. Dapat patahimikin mo na si self 1. That is the goal at game time
If you think, then you are late.....

Thanks Master A,
Lahat kami isang game plan. Matatagal ang time but sigurista si Lito. After awhile pina piso piso na kami.
Dikit dikit tuloy ang scores namin team members :)
That is his secret, no need to get to the top just get the points at a reasonable time.
Si Allegra grabe ang pinayat. Last time I saw you at the bucor you must have weighed 20 to 30 pounds more?
Whats your secret???
