First MX of the season

My local track hosted one of the Loretta Lynn qualifer rounds last weekend. Almost three times the number of riders compared to normal. 15 classes on Saturday, and 17 on Sunday. With so many races, most motos were ony 4 lap 'dashes'. That limited me as to where I could shoot with clean backgrounds, not much time to move around. Anyway, here's some of my favorites. All with D300, 80-200 f2.8, SB600 flash.

I really like #6 and 9. The colors and mud make a nice contrast and the string of riders give a feel for the flow through the corner. I've been practicing action shooting on my dog (fortunately, a greyhound)...it's a lot more challenging than I ever imagined. Great shots!

I like the last one. He looks up so high based on the trees. I'm glad we can't see the ground on it.
