External HD issue [Archive]

I just bought a new puter, with Vista...:steamed: , and I tried to connect both an external hard drive, and an XD card in the slot. On both counts, the devices were recognized, drivers were load, and confirmed redy for use. I try to explore them, but they cannot be found. I have tried deleting them from the system list, and re-loading them a few times. I have tried formatting them on the new computer. nothing on all counts.

Any advice?:dunno:

Need more info. Is your XD slot a USB device connected to the computer?

Try just connecting the XD device first, use it to make sure it works, then connect your external HD. Maybe even reboot.
