Ya know, considering the number of "just got a camera" threads this forum had in the last few months, AND considering it's now spring and flowers are blooming and birds are singing and, and, and....
This place sure has gone quiet.
So here's some gratuitous spring time pics. Not really my best effort, but I'm rusty. And so is everyone else....so go shoot! (Then post!)

Great third shot. Excellent light, expression, mood.
I also like your signature. I have a friend who has an OFF & ON drinking problem. He insists that his employers (he works construction) deposit his paychecks directly into a special account, where he cannot just take it all and blow it in a moment of weakness. He says sometimes, "If you want to hand me money you might as well hand a straight razor to a monkey and watch what happens."

I agree, it has gotten quiet in here lately. Here are a few pics from a recent Chicago trip.
First is a pic of a water tower on the magnificent mile and second was taken from the lakeshore in front of Adler's planetarium.

Couple more from same trip. These 2 were taken through the glass at the top of the Hancock Observatory, I think it is 96 stories up.
The first is Navy Pier and 2nd is looking south.

I bought some speedlights today and I'm in the process of learning how to shoot with gels. Bouncing color is kind of fun. Here are some of my attempts:

Spent a week at Silver Lake on MI's west coast a couple weeks ago. Here is a sunset picture over the sand dunes with Silver Lake in the foreground.

Airmotive, I think you are the guy from the Indy Photo Coach class? I was the other "american guy" there. You should post some of your shots on their flickr group.

The very first photo in this thread (of my greyhound, Poocha, nosing around in the crabapple blossoms) was taken with my $75 wonder lens (50/1.8).
It's fun but challenging working with a very narrow DOF.
Have fun!

I've been to Indy just recently, and these shots are truly a credit to the area. Great photographs!

The forum compresses images over a certain size, and can give it a pixelated look. Click the pics to see images full size...
