Update as you see fit. Personally I have been lucky and have been able to accumulate 700-750 rounds of 9mm FMJ for my trips to Sebastian.

Let's get this thread going that will help update fellow GT members to the whereabouts of ammo in Florida.

Today Wally World on gatlin blvd in PSL had 10 boxes of 9mm, and 10 boxes of .40

wow dude, are you really checking in this often? i thought i checked alot going once or twice a week! :) you are dedicated...

if you really want to turn this into a resource, when other's add info, you could edit it and add it to your original post....much like one of the FAQ's (http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268364)....kind of like this:

Treasure Coast:
Wal-Mart, Gatlin - OUT
Self-Defense Gun Range, PSL - etc, etc, etc

South Florida:
Wal-Mart, West Palm - etc, etc..

it would take a fair amount of work, but you get my gist (sp?)....anyway, just throwing out ideas... anyways!

Well, Wally world is just around the corner and i drive by it everyday. It takes just a few minutes to drop in there. This a.m. i needed to put gas in my car so... I try to take care of my buds as well, they all let me know what they need and if it's there, I grab it for them. Plus I shoot once or twice a week so I need a lot of ammo to keep me going and I hate to pay .50 - .75 cents a round for target practice.

I have 4 Wally World's within 20 minutes of my home. I have been calling each one of them at least 2-3 times a week. When I can find ammo in 9mm, .40S&W or .45acp I go buy it. I figure I can always trade it for something I do need.

Lately I have not been able to find much, just 3 boxes of .40 a week ago in Cocoa. I'll post back when they are in stock at these stores. If there is something other than these calibers someone needs, say the word and I will let you know if it is in stock. Maybe we can trade out and both make out.

Wal-Mart on 441 in Apopka has/had ammo. They're limiting you to a total of 6 boxes of anything behind the counter. I saw two guys each get 6 boxes of 9mm Blazer Brass for (IIRC) just under $9 per box. I picked up 2 of the 550 count boxes of .22lr. I hadn't seen those in ages...probably should have bought more...I think I left one.

And a real shocker...they've lowered the price on Federal 100 packs of shotgun shells from $22 and change to $20 and change. Of course they were out of #8 shot and only had 7.5. I probably should have bought some, but am holding out for #8.

I'm guessing by now the 9mm Blazer is gone. There were two more guys buying some when I left the area.

ETA...they also had .40 Blazer Brass...but no .45acp.

I stopped by again first thing this AM hoping to get a few more boxes of .22lr. All they had was the pricey stuff. They had restocked Federal 12G 100 packs in #8, so I bought a few of those at the rollback price.

There was a guy at the ammo counter looking for .45acp, but there wasn't any. The only handgun ammo I saw was .44mag, for $30something (I think it was $32.99) per box!

Anyway, I talked to the other customer a bit, and it turns out he's been shopping multiple Wal Marts in the area looking for .45, but buying anything popular he can find (mostly 9mm and .380) to trade with other individuals or resell at a flea market. He said he didn't even have guns in those calibers, but that he's been able to trade box for box to get .45.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the wife and I normally check the 4 Walmarts close to us on Sunday mornings. We usually end up with a box or 2 for our efforts. Today, however, was jackpot time. We ended up picking up 10/100 round boxes of WWB for 28.97 per 100. Why? Because Walmart is changing the policy from 6 boxes to 1 box. We were allowed to buy a box each at the ones we went too. We went back at 2pm and bought a couple of more at the one closes to us. Evidently the dealers have worn out their welcome at WalMart with buying and reselling.

Before the hoarding comments start being flung at me, the wife and I shoot nearly every weekend and I am going to start shooting USPSA soon. I shoot up everything I buy.

It's been over a month since I've looked, but I happened to be in Wal Mart (Apopka) this evening, and figured I'd check the ammo counter. They had .357sig, .44mag, and nothing else in hand gun calibers. None of the cheap bulk .22lr either. I forgot to even look at the shotgun ammo to see if the Federal was still roll back priced.

I typically check the Walmart in South Orlando off John Young/Sand Lake. I never find anything related to handgun. The Wal-Mart in Clermont has had some decent amounts of .40, and IIRC I've spotted .44 but never any 9mm. About two weeks ago, they consistently had .40 Cal one week it was Federal and the next WWB, good amount of it too, like 30 boxes easily (limit 6 per customer) however I checked this week and nothing. I've heard the wal-mart down the road from Shoot Straight Apopka has decent ammo from time to time too.

Wal-Mart's steadily raised the price of ammo but hasn't been treating shooters as the cash cows that most other retailers have. Most of us probably have fond memories of 9mm Winchester 100 packs for $11. I think they're about double that now...but the nearby WM has occasionally had Blazer Brass 9mm for $8.96 (it doesn't last long), which isn't too bad a deal by today's standards. Even Natchez has gone nuts with ammo prices and lost whatever respect and affinity I had for them.

Picked up 3 boxes of .40 for the range today at Wal-Mart in Clermont, off John's Lake rd. 12.87 a box I think... They didn't have much left, maybe 4/5 boxes but the guy at the counter mentioned .40 has been pretty plentiful. I noticed they had some long gun rounds also, and I believe .22

I feel your pain, FLglocker.

Don't misunderstand, I am NO fan of Obama, but the recent problems with finding ammo is not his fault. It is the fault of our fellow shooters who decided they needed to hoard all of the available ammo to the point where manufacturers couldn't keep up with the demand.

The good news is that it seems to be finally easing up. I am now finding some ammo that I am looking for at Walmart, but the shelves are still far from being as filled as they used to be. If you can be patient, I am sure the shelves near you will begin to be restocked, too.

Its the hoarders around here , too much money and too much time on their hands . I'm going to wait a while until I go to the range , $55 for 100 rounds of 9mm is draining my bank account . The price per 100 used to be $20 per 100 before the hoarding began . Im seriously considering saving , and investing in reloading equipment , not only for myself to try to recoupe , but to make a little money on the side . Its just rediculous Wally world hasnt had ANYTHING around here for around a year , except the occasional .22 and 12g shells .

They have most (if not all) handgun calibers in stock including the hard to find ones, both target and defense ammo. TONS of ammo all the time, I'm in there about once a week.

Good prices on ammo, and AWESOME prices on guns. Their hours are a little odd, but they always have lots of ammo there.

Good prices on ammo, and AWESOME prices on guns. Their hours are a little odd, but they always have lots of ammo there.

Thanks for the info. I have been checking wal-marts around here with no luck. I really didnt want to get ripped off at shoot straight.

Bass Pro shops on I-Drive in orlando has Winchester 5.56 boxes for anyone with an AR, first time I've seen this, and its 10.00 for 20 rounds, not too shabby.

Also theres plenty of .40SW around but no 9mm rounds anywhere, I SOMEHOW scored two boxes of 9mm at the colonial/UCF walmart 3 weeks ago for my roomate...was nice getting 100 rounds for 18.96 :)

florida ammo traders got a lot of 9mm, 40, and 380 in stock the other day.

I never buy ammo at Walmart. I have been looking for a long time and never get anything. I find that many gun/pawn shops around here have plenty of ammo at reasonable prices. I bought 800 rounds(9mm) to shoot at the range and did not even have to look around for it. After I went through the 800 rounds, I was able to restock my supply with 300 rounds(normal stock for me) with ease. Typical box of 50 FMJ $13.99/box. The shelves in our gun stores are always full. Walmart is always empty.

The Wal-Mart in Treasure Island (Tyrone Blvd) had 9mm, .40S&W, .223 and some other stuff when I was in there on Oct. 24/25th. I'm sure they've still got some/all of what they had when I was there seeing as it was about 8-10k of .223, 4-5k of .40S&W and 2k of 9mm. I bought four 100rd WWB value packs.

Bought 2 boxes of 250 , UMC 9mm at the South Florida (S.R. 37) Wal Mart in Lakeland a week ago $52 (each) without tax . They still had a few left , maybe 3 or 4 .

Going to check it out again today , and get treated like a king again , they carry it to the front for you , ask what you need 500 rounds for at the register , then see you out of the store safely ( rolls eyes ) . I felt so safe , shouldve just left the 9mm pistol in my truck . Anyways , no .40 .45 , barely any .22 , couple 20 rnd boxes of .223 , no 7.62x39 .

Shoot Straights new store in Lakeland also has 9mm American eagle for $13 a box of 50 .

The Walmart in Royal Palm Beach was pretty well stocked today with a bunch of different rifle ammo (.223, 7.62x39, .308, .30-06, 7mm, etc.). The only pistol ammo was 2 boxes of WWB .40 ($16/50), a few boxes of .44 mag, and about 8 or so boxes of Federal 180 grain .40 ($14/50) after I snagged a few. Of course there was plenty of shotgun shells. Only .22lr was sub-sonic but they had a bunch of it and some .22 mag and .17hmr.

Definitely the most ammo I've seen at a Walmart in a long time.

Hey guys, new here, first post but I've been lurking for quite a while now. I work for Walmart, here in Jax, Fl. We've actually been getting a fairly good amount of ammo in recently. I left work about 3 hours ago and we had 10 or so boxes of 100rd WWB 9mm, 4 or 5 boxes of .40, no .45 or .380, those are fairly rare, plenty of Rifle rounds, lots of .22, even had a couple boxes of .357. we aslo go in these new RWS 9mm, got a ton of them, 30 boxes or so, but they are $16.97, apparently it is Swiss match grade ammo. Anywho, If anyone would like a "heads up" on ammo here in Jacksonville, shoot me a pm and I'll be glad to let you know when we get it in.

Asked the clerk to open the case so I could buy 4 boxes of the Federal .40 cal. Said she had to go get the key. Came back five minutes later. No key. She went up front to get the key. When she came back, no key. Said the night clerk must have taken it home by mistake. No key to be found in the store.
