If you want to PM me I can tell you who I would suggest, the cost is $85, and you can shoot at the same place you attend the class. The instructor is as nice a guy as you will ever meet.

Bruce,

I also have a suggestion, but would prefer a private message, as well. $85 also, shoot at test site, etc. Heck, we may be talking about the same guy.

I teach it up here in Louisville. The standard price is 75.00 but some guys will charge you an extra 10 for the range. They can legally do that but it's chicken crap. Stick with someone who only charges the 75.00 . It's 6 hours minimum class room plus the range test.

It's "chicken crap" only if you don't have to rent a range or a location for the classroom portion.

I've been have an instructor since its inception and that extra 10 bucks can make a big difference to some instructors.

That said, I charge $75.

I have to rent the range portion. I belong to a private club or I use Bluegrass Indoor for my students. I just eat the 6 or 8 bucks range fee they charge. There is even a place here that is a range and they charge the extra 10.00 .
Just depends on where you go.

Agreed.

I am fortunate to live in rural eastern KY with private property avaiable for the range portion.

Though, there has recently been a local instructor (only 3 of us in the entiree county) offering the course for $10 LESS than the standard $75.

Maybe it works for him, maybe not.
