Anyone have one for cheap?;I
I shot one but I doubt I could afford to buy it. I was told very few ever made into the U.S.

please excuse me while i go and change my pants.. ;W
While visiting the CHP Academy range I got to shoot one. Put two of the extended magazines (I think they were 32 rounds each) through it.
About halfway through the second magazine I was getting the hang of controling the thing. By that I mean I was keep most of a burst on a silhouette - not hitting in the center, just hitting the cardboard. Range was about 7-10 yards.
I know a lot of people get all excited over these things but I was underwhelmed. I think I can hit much better with just a semi. All those wasted rounds do no good and are probably a liability.
YMMV.
I've seen one at The Armory in Scottsdale but didn't get to fondle it. They offer it as one of their Machine Gun Adventure rentals.
Have a peek...2nd column, 4th row.

Wow, they rent all kinds of cool crap!
Hardly even noticed the G18 on that page. Matter of fact, I think the G18 would be dead last if I got to shoot all those guns!

I have seen them at Knob Creek and they are all but uncontrollable. Still want one though;f
Shot one on two different training sessions.
Would prefer a 3-round burst option.
I will stick with a G31 and 29-round mags.

What Dave T said !
I got to shoot it a couple of time.
Is fun to try but would not be my choice should I obtain a licence for an automatic weapon (which is more then 100% impossible anyway :( )
you try and hold it while it will run from the aiming point in a rigth-and-upwards line very very difficult to control.

The guy that I bought some of my glocks from owns one. I got to hold it.:) I doubt that he would have let me shoot it though.
Got to shoot both the Glock 18 and the Glock 18C at a business expo at Blackwater Training Center. The Glock rep had A LOT of different Glocks for people to "test drive". I believe that he said the G18 would empty a 33rd. mag in about 2.89 seconds !
Also got to shoot a suppressed Glock 21 he had. That was quite interesting too.
I don't find them to be uncontrollable!

My G17 thought it was a G18 for a couple of weeks. The "uncontrollable" statements are the results of the inexperience and adrenelin levels of the first-time shooters. After the novelty wears off, they're quite controllable. as Butch said.

I have shot actual 18s a few times and other Glocks with a switch kits alot. Pretty silly but fun.
My G17 thought it was a G18 for a couple of weeks.
i had that happen with a 7mm mag BAR one time, it wasn't very fun, my shoulder was sore for quite a while
If you look around on the Internet you can find videos of the G18 in Action.
You should try a G26 with a "switch kit"
Oh man..it's fun if you like that sorta thing.
You can indeed control it to a certain degree, not as wild and uncontrollable as some would have you think. No tight groupings mind you, but not spray and pray.
As for practical applications?..I just consider it fun.
There are at least 5 mpegs out there of FA Glocks. I know one is a G17 with the conversion kit on it. I'll see if I can find the websites.
I think the conversion one is on fullautoglock.net and the slo-mo video is on kurzzeit.com
But yea, I've fired many G18's. They're fun but not "perfection". FA pistols are never really practical. Select fire with a 3-round burst option would be a big improvement.

...not too bad if you could get off the trigger after 4 or 5 shots. Longer bursts than that, and it would become a perfect weapon for foes coming at you on the "down" escalator, or attacking you from rapelling lines!;f ;f And we only had 17 rd. mags to play with, they went from F to E real fast. The later guns with comps (and 33rnders) would have to be an improvement.
Butch) That pic is awesome...
Anyway, As far as transferrable G18's, I believe there are 3, count'em- 3 available. When there are that few of a C3 gun available, expect to pay WELL into 5 digits... (If not 6)
I shot one at the creek a couple of years ago.
Neat.

There are no transferable G18's in the US. There can't be. To be transferable, the G18 would have to have been imported prior to 1968 (foreign machine gun). Glocks weren't even around in 1968. The 1986 law governs US produced full auto weapons. There could be a small group of converted G17's. Those probably would be in the low 5 figure price range!

Oops.
I should have specified.
Pre-86 Dealer Samples, which can be transferreed and retained for life by the individual dealers.
I am thinking from the standpoint of someone who works for an 02 FFL...
Have always wanted to shoot the one The Armory in Scottsdale, AZ. has. I was at the AR15.com/Arizona Shoot last weekend. And behold there was a G18 in my hands. It was fun pumping 30 rounds through her. She shoots pretty much like a F/A MAC-11. Fun spray gun. And the ones I also enjoyed in F/A: M16's, FN FAL, AK47 shorty. The owner said they go for about the same price as a MAC. About 1,500.00 plus 200.00 tax.
