Is 125K for a Brand New elisco baby a fair price?
It has a 11.5" barrel, A1 upper and with license. Thanks so much.

That's too much for an Elisco. An 11.5" barrel is most likely a 20-incher that was shortened.

For a good quality Elisco, you should expect to pay Php 50K to 60K nowadays. You might get lucky sometime and find one for less than 50K, but most of the offers I've seen are a bit more than 50K.

By the way, I doubt it if you could ever find a 'brand-new' Elisco rifle. Elisco Tool company closed down in the 80's, IIRC.

I strongly suggest that you be wary of anyone claiming to have a 'brand-new' elisco.

+1 Agree on the 11.5" being a possible 'putol' and an almost non-existent brand-new Elisco. Elitool ceased to operate in late 80s or early 90s. However, it would be possible that a few 'prestine' and 'New-in-wrap' units (or barrels) can be had.

As to the price, in our neck of the woods, a nice condition Elisco baby is already around 70-75T. It used to be around 55-60T, but price rose after the MOA-AD fiasco... I think the whole country follows the price set in Mindanao, unless the seller needs the money badly :)

The only way that price could be escalated to that high is when it is dressed up with a quality four-rail handguard, a flat-top receiver with and carry handle and a quality-brand 'current' retractable stock. And probably the barrel is no longer an Elisco but an authentic 11.5" 1/9. So in actuality, only the lower receiver and internal parts remained as Elisco.

too much! Check around and you can get a commando with flat top and detachable handle for the same price

Thanks for the reply. BTW, this is from FED-crame itself, thats why I said/think the unit brand new. I, too think the price is high.

I am looking for a baby reasonably priced and in good condition. What worries me in buying a second hand unit is that there are plenty of fakes units around being passed on as the original. Any help in my search is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Have you checked Pinoy Pistol Forum? There are a number of rifles posted there. Elisco rifles are also offered from time-to-time.

At this price bro, even for a modified one, it's way too high. Maybe you can check out edtf's suggestion.

^ personally, I won't go higher than 70K, but I'll try to start at 55K. Make sure the adjustments for the sights -- front and rear, still works. These are usually corroded on most units. The looks of the barrel (length) doesn't look original. Looks like sawed-off convert from a 20". Try to check if the bolt-to-carrier lock-up is still tight. Lastly, have it test fire and see how close the round-to-round grouping is -- 25 mtrs at least.

Looks like a well maintained rifle. The bolt cam pin hardly has any wear on it. The firing pin's tip also looks good.
