View Full Version : Old Broken Scanner, What to do With it?
As the title states. I have a HP 5500 that does not scan, is there any parts that I should salvage off of it? Or is it just trash?

What's wrong with it? You're unlikely to get much for it parting it out. As cheap as scanners are these days, unless it's a high end scanner, wouldn't be worth much broken.

It is a shame, it was a high end scanner at the time. It was barely used but I think it was damaged from one of our cats walking on it God knows how many times. When it scans it just comes up black with a green color around the edge. I looked it up to see if it could be fixed when it died but it couldn't be fixed. We are cleaning the house up and trying to get rid of stuff that is not needed.
I was just wondering if anyone has taken theirs apart and kept pieces of it to use for other projects.
shoot it
Oh trust me I have thought about it but my range won't let me.
