I have been wanting a nice 1st Generation G-17 for about 10-12 years and finally happened across one at my local shop. It's barrel date code translates to Jan 1987 and the GT Serial Number Thread says it was imported in March 1987. It is in 100% original condition with the 2 piece recoil spring and guide rod, and has not had the 1991 upgrade. I will call Glock soon and get the parts on the way for the upgrade but will keep all the originals for collectability. It was missing the manual and one of the old style mags, but I found a slightly newer style 455 baseplate model in my collection to fill the empty hole. I took it to the range and 50 rounds went through the center of the target. It's more accurate than my 2nd Gen and as good as my 3rd. I stripped it down completely and cleaned her out, discovered very little wear and almost no slide peening. Very happy with this gem!
Here's a couple of pics after being cleaned up.
