Certified to use VA Hospital

I want to become "certified" to go to the VaA Hospital for NON-SERVICE disability.
I am 70 and do not think I will ever use the VA but, want the card. What will I need to take with me besides my discharge?

Well it’s just not as easy as saying I’m a Vet how I get my card. You must meet the VA’s eligibility requirements and you certainly didn’t give enough information in you post to determine that. Go here and see if you fall into any of the enrollment priority groups http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/eligibility/PriorityGroupsAll.asp and if you do contact your nearest VA medical facility to start the enrollment application. Now here’s another rub, some regions have turned away 7 and 8 because they can’t provide for the other categories so just having a card doesn’t guarantee treatment.
