Any other train wreck refugees here or have they moved on to greener pastures ?

I just got banned from INGO for posting a photo of some German soldiers playing with a kitten in the "warm & fuzzy picture thread".

You have been banned for the following reason:
You need to calm down. We are not Nazis. If you cannot grasp that, INGO is not for you. This is a temp ban, think about it.

Date the ban will be lifted: 06-30-2009, 11:00

I am not sure what their problem is but considering I spent most of my time on INGO talking about gardening this is a little surprising.

Sorry to hear that BUT not surprised. I missed the photo, were the kittens unclothed? Seems a little harsh punishment for what you have described but nothing seems to amaze me anymore. I'll be checking the Indiana forum on GT on a regular basis.

Yep I posted this photo:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kXnVoQ9ZFkQ/SaT52gr5jsI/AAAAAAAAHz4/99q9TEiLPk4/s400/nazikittesn.jpg

And a few moments later my account was banned, no warnings, no PM's, no infraction thingies, IMHO it's just another example of Fenway's new "my moderators are a bunch of pricks" policy.

I don't get it - no verbiage against the mods? Looks a little heavy handed to me but what do I know

All I know is that they banned awhole bunch of people this morning, the message I took from it was that "dissent, in any form, no matter how vague, cute or funny will not be tolerated".

This post was not meant to be a B*itch Thread but one looking for fellow Indiana Gun Owners here at Glock Talk to begin posting again in the GT Indiana Forum (http://glocktalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=103). GT has lots to offer, the membership numbers are staggering but the geographic area can make for difficult situations other than posting.

Stay Safe :patriot:

Pictures seem to be ok. Someone a little sensitive about German soldiers?

Is Richard really banned? He was a really good guy! I'm really confused. This is just crazy! (Please don't ban me for asking this question!). I've just never seen Richard do or say anything wrong on here? Am I missing something?

Kinda odd. Had the 1st INGO picnic at ECPR this past Saturday, and most everyone seemed OK.

Frankly, I don't post much on GT or INGO. Damn near bored with all of the boards. All runs together after a while. Least for me it does.

meh, what do I know...

I know whatcha mean Steve, I've maybe about 50 forums bookmarked, everything from firearms to aquariums to gardening to musicians & instruments to local and semi-local forums, they can sort of blend together after awhile, granted I don't talk on them all & I barely get the chance to read through them that much but I was really starting to take a liking to INGO, so it's sort of a shame that they've gone and Nazi'fied it up like that.

I sort of had a feeling it'd happen though as soon as Fenway decided to turn it into a "commercial venture" instead of just a bunch of buddies talking ****, I've seen it happen before on other boards so it's really not all that surprising.

Money & Paranoia = Train Wreck

Personally I think it's more about the Benjamins than anything else.

It's hard to make money if you allow folks to speak their mind openly & freely, advertisers & $$ contributers could get offended & that's bad for business.

Probably, except for the negative PM's that I've received about posting on GT. It seems that there is a forum jealousy or Gee, you don't love us as much psychosis in play also. The odd thing to me is that many of the original members were solicited from here at GT. I belong to many forums but like a place where one can feel at home. It was that way until the desire for quantity overcame quality.

Wow really? that's some messed up stuff right there & now that you mention it, I think I was solicited either here on GT (or ARFCOM, cant remember which one) to go over to INGO.

Dude! Did you get banned from INGO? If so, are you going to share the reasons and/or circumstances with us?

No, just taking a hiatus until the madness subsides. I've been spending too much time surfing and need to be enjoying the sunshine, shooting and chores before the weather turns. If you've noticed, there are several members in good standing AWOL.

Actually I have not noticed. That may be because I've left as well.

I think I also missed much of the commotion because I have so many people on my IGNORE list over there. I would not be surprised if many of the people who were ejected were on lengthy IGNORE list. That's an unimportant fact beyond an explanation why I've not noticed some things.

???? I'm out of the loop on this one???? can someone enlighten me? Would it be unwise to ask this question on INGO?

I don't think anyone is going to answer you publically Mkbar, my temporary ban turned into a permanent one because I dared to complain about it in this thread.

Sorry to hear that Richard and yes sadly, threads on other forums are being monitored.

Very interesting 4Sarge, I wonder how that sort of chilling Gestapo-esque tactic fits in with their "we are not Nazis" claims.

Some folks get a little authority & they stop thinking of other folks as their equals.

I guess that's just human nature, what's the real shame IMHO is to see that sort of attitude so accepted, nay, applauded on a firearm related forum where folks generally tend to be more "pro-freedom" than some other places.

Calm down, people.

INGO, and GT, for that matter, are just internet message boards.

No big deal.

I guess I am just not a big fan of forums who's staff abuse their "authority".

This has become apparent. At least they had the decency to refund my site supporter $.

It seemed OK at first, but the mods.... the above description seems to fit quite well for some.

I think the GT IN forum will be my local gun discussion board of choice from this point on. Just some ridiculous stuff going on over there. Train wreck seems to be an appropriate term.
