Friends of mine are going to cebu this weekend , first time to go there
Can anyone recommend san maganda mamasyal , magshopping at kumain?

Come to think of it, Cebu is one of my fave places pero hindi pa pala ako nakakapasyal dun except sa range, beach, bars ( hindi girlie bar ha ), at kumain madaming lechon
I miss the place

It's still the regular places to go for shopping like in Manila, Ayala and SM. It depends on what they like and whether it's more girls than men visiting Cebu. For weekend night life, you have Formo which has 80's night on saturday and you'll get the idea what the age group will be like, Vudu and Loft/Penthouse for the younger than those going to Formo, then you got PUMP, and the whole Mango Avenue in uptown cebu if you want a mix of people crowding the place.

Mango Avenue is a full party place at night but like i said, it's a mix crowd.

Dude, you have got to visit Cebu again all of those has already closed down. :tongueout:

Would you know where they are going to stay? IT Park which is located just outside of Waterfront Hotel in Lahug has alot of restaurants and coffee shops that they could go to.

For the upper range or restaurants, you have Guisseppi, Hola Espana and Gustavian near Ma. Luisa. The last two are partly owned by the Lhuillier group. Tinderbox in Banilad is also good. Gustavian has a branch in the Ayala Mall. For Cebuano food, you have Golden Cowrie and Chikaan just near the Waterfront Hotel. Golden Cowrie also has a branch in Ayala named Hukad(cebuano for serve). Chikaan has a branch in SM. For some reason alot would say Cafe Laguna is good but i try to go to other restaurants but maybe it's just me.

There is also alot of restaurants near Capitol that is known for its seafoods like sinugbang panga, etc...but it's located at the inner portion streets. But this beats going to STK in lapulapu city.

Within Banilad Area you also have Crossroads which has a couple of good resturants and is where VUDU is located. Then there is BTC(Banilad Town Center) where Formo is located. Krua Thai and Spice Fusion serves good Asian foods.

Ask them where they are staying and it would be easier to recommend.

yung medyo bagong resto sa tabi ng st therese church masarap din, nakalimutan ko pangalan.

grand caprice also serves a nice and reasonable price for lunch and dinner buffet.

mura lang mga buffet sa cebu. super sulit. lots of choices in terraces (ayala), IT park, crossroads, btc (banilad town center), etc etc etc....

ano habol nila sa cebu? may island cruises sa cebu. well, it is island hopping pero very professional daw ang service nila at hindi na yung bara bara na bangka.

shangrila mactan and plantation bay are nice to go but if they are staying sa city and no cebuano friends to take them around, it ay be an issue.

my favorite tambayan place used to be tops. im not sure if it is still open.

i like angelina's along banilad, adjacent to gmc casa. may jap resto beside castle peak hotel sa ayala extension. all u can eat angus. sulit buffet sa marco polo (ex cebu plaza hotel). i enjoyed formo the first and last time i was there (last june). obvious that im an 80s freak.

u can go to bohol din. if they are into diving, there's malapascua and bantayan.

depende talaga ano habol nila o ano hilig nila.....

Dang you made me miss my old station...:crying: I didn't go to the mentioned nightspots, as my hangout has always been the Kamagong range. But the mentioned beaches are great. If you can get Plantation Bay, the lagoon is beautiful.

And before you leave, be sure to go to CnT in either Ayala or SM and get chopped up lechon to go.:eat:

What's the place near Robinson's that serves pochero? I miss the Chinese food in Cebu also.

Not the Tambuli. I don't see that closing anytime soon or may years after. That's actually one of those affordable and worth for your money places. to stay.

Plantation Bay i've heard, has packages like local residents. There was a extra day for free for 2 days book or something.

For por kilo lechon, CnT probably has the best along with chicharon bulaklak and those cardiac delight foods.

Infront of SM, there is Conchings which specializes in Lechon Manok Bisaya but it's like a carenderia type of shop but good.

And before you leave, be sure to go to CnT in either Ayala or SM and get chopped up lechon to go.:eat:

you're refering to Abuhan :) the Best Pochero for me, and the Chinese food. Buffet at Grand Majestic :P its hard to beat.. imagine eating Peking Duck na eat all you can... yum2x :)

Night life.. hhmm.. depends.. i'd rather have coffee sa IT park, Sa mango square.. medyo mix crowd kasi.. not for me :P in front of waterfront lahug... where The Village use to be.. its damn nice, have coffee chat away with the barkada.. :) sigh.. i miss those days.

If iba yung trip mo.. ahem2x... PM nalang me (just joking.. im sure the cebuanos of this forum can point you to the right direction):) hahahahahah..

Restos.... hhmm.. buffet.. ive tried Shangri-la, Plantation, Marriot, and some other places.. but if i had one choice.. it would be Marco Polo. Thats place rocks.. i think 1k++ plus ang isang tao.. with taxes and green mango shake na yan. totally worth it... for me lang ha.. hell, i had a hard time sampling everything sa dami ng selection, and mind you... im hard to fill .. hahahah.

if Restaurant.. Plate type.. hmm... i like Cafe George.. or Tinder box.. both are near. if on a bit of a budget.. cafe george.. if may kasama to impress.. hahahah.. Tinder Box. Good ambience.. not too crowdy.. and love their steak there. If you're a fan of Ramen.. in front of Paseo.. theres a small japanese noodle house there. kamichi or something. I LOVE their Ramen!! never miss out on that place whenever im in cebu. pang.midnight snack :)

Sir, I dropped by your office yesterday and was surprised that you had already transfered to Manila.

Oh the order came out last December, and bang, February I was in Manila. I mean I saw it coming, but it still came as a surprise, I was kinda comfortable already in Cebu. Even got a condo there (under construction). Most of my shooting stuff, as well as my rifle, is still in Cebu.

You could also go to the Chinese lunch buffet at Wang Shan Lo at Club Ultima near Fuente Osmeņa, behind the new hotel Crown Regency. About P400, but you pay at the Club Ultima reception at the 19th floor. I can never get enough of the scallops...

FWIW, When my sister last visited Cebu they stayed at the Shangrila Mactan and sabi niya it was very good. But that's in general terms. Pagdating sa kainan mas OK siguro to try the other places. Iba yung experience nung smaller and more local places.
