Is there a single stack 1911 full/long dust frame that's available locally?

What 1911 single stack full/long dust frame is available at local gunshops?

I have seen some guns customized by local gunsmiths with full dust cover.

Is there any danger that these dust cover extensions added or built on standard length frames would break off with long term use?

If a frame is forged and you add an extension, will the extension be as strong as the rest of the receiver?

jun,

i'd recommend col. bayang when it comes to long dust. my samscor's long dust was previously done by tony olinares, i had col. bayang re-do it, for better aesthetics. function wise, no problem with tony o.

and to clarify, tony olinares is still one of the top gunsmiths when it comes to 1911/2011 platforms..its just that i feel col. bayang has the edge pagdating sa aesthetics. tony has his reasons..my preference just went with the col.

kami ni mco, long dust by col. bayang. mco's blaster has eaten more than 25K of ammo, mine is at 8K na

The school of thought is, the weld will be as strong as the metal if done properly. Plus the "dustcover" is a none critical part of the 1911, it is there to protect it from dust.
