Well I have had a lot on my mind here lately and decided shooting some fish by myself would be a good way to clear my head. I ended up with 58 in a few hours and called it quits around 12:30. Could probably have tripled the number with one other person! The fish were out for sure. I had one big buffalo pull off due to me not tightening my tip all the way down, I know the scale was about the size of a half dollar if not bigger. Shot some shad, gar, buffalo, common carp, and a moccasin. It was a good trip and I needed it. I don't know what it is about that place but for as long as I can remember, long before bowfishing I would ride out there if something was bothering me and it seems like it just makes it better. Anyways, here are a few pictures from the night. It was hot as hell tonight too, if you can't tell. I also figured out where to put the camera for a timer shot so I managed to get a "hero" shot.

Bout halfway through the trip

Well Hoss, that is a very cool deal. Everyone needs a "hide away spot."
I got a couple of them myself. Looks like yours is far more productive than mine. ha. But it is good for a man to have these places, or 'place' to do just what you did. Get away and think, and maybe even have fun as well, and "do it all alone."

And..... We all need a couple of Hero shots as well... ha.
Ya did good man. Glad ya had a good time, and hope ya got your head clear, and got the stress delt with.

Stay safe

Thanks bud, it's a great little place not far from the house/town but seems like it is 100 miles from anything! It was a fun time, not many memories were made, no laughter on the boat, in fact it was eerily quiet out there on the water alone (minus the hum of the generator) but that is exactly what I needed! I had a twelve pack of beer with me and got so busy shooting fish, I even forgot about them!

Great shooting! Looks like you got some cat's in there too. How do you get shots on them? And the moccosin? How the heck do you get them off the arrow?

Just got back driving to and from Nebraska to New orleans and went through Miss. and during the long drive was thinking of some of your posts while going through the state.

dam dude! You should have planned an extra day and shot with me! The catfish are usually deep on the bottom in murkier water. I shoot the snakes in the head (for the most part), and step on the head and pull off arrow on the edge of the boat haha..learned not to do it in the boat when a buddy almost dove out, he failed to mention he shrieks like a little girl and almost convulses at the sight of snakes haha!
