Fishing Gear Terminology & Recommendations

Hello all,

I'm looking for a website or book(s) that breaks down the different applications of various rods and reels, such as the differences in spinning, spin casting, bait casting and fly reels. Also different types of rods such as one piece, two piece, length, material, etc.
And how different gear is used for different species of fish and types of fishing, as in open water fishing in a power boat, lake fishing in a canoe or kayak, shore or beach fishing, pier fishing, etc.

Any personal preferences in gear manufacturers will also be welcome as well as what to stay away from, such as companies with inferior products or design and lousy customer service.

If you have a basspro nearby, they have a few books that breaks this down. You best bet is doing a borders book search.

btw, you would be shock at the average fisherman would not know the common lingo, terms or differences in rods,reels and knots.
