I've been searching around trying to find if there's a way I can use my windows 98 Thomas The Train CD games on Ubuntu? I also have Blue's Clues and all the other "biggies" the grandkids like to play. I don't need to copy, just play them.:dunno:
Thanks
I also have games for the XP I'd like to load.

Well, you don't usually try to play a Mac game on Windows, or Vice Versa do you? There's ways you can try and make it work, sometimes it works great, sometimes it doesn't work at all.
Try searching the Wine AppDb and see if the stuff you want to install has any wine support.

I would just use synaptic and search on 'wine'.
Install it and see what loads and what doesn't.
It will not hurt anything to have wine installed and you never know what might work.
You might also want to check out dos game emulators.

how build a vm and run it in that. I would not waste my effort on wine when virtualization is so cool and effective.

Isn't there some sort of 3D issue w/ VMware and Virtualbox? I seem to remember reading that when people suggest running games there.

Now that got me laughing! I knew that Linux was a totally different OS, but forgot. I don't know what I was thinking.
