Well by the last state law book I have (ATF P 5300.5 1994) it is legal to own a silencer in Tn. So, the process would be the same as anywhere that allows them. You will need to get two copies of an ATF form 4, two fingerprint cards, two recent passport size photos and $200.00 check. The dealer you buy the silencer from will give you the form 4's, the PD that fingerprint's you will give you those, passport photo's from whereever you like, $200.00 check from yourself. Locate a silencer either from a local dealer or from an out of state source. From out of state, send them the money for the silencer and the name of your in state dealer, they will get info needed from your dealer (takes a few weeks to get to your in state dealer, you can't start your paperwork until it arrives at dealer). Take form 4's with passport photos affixed to your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer and get his/her signature on it (check if your CLEO will sign before buying silencer from out of state source). Get fingerprints at same time. Send form's to BATF with check. Wait, wait, wait, wait, you get it, wait...... After several months if approved your dealer will get approved form (just 1 of them, ATF keeps 1). Go pick up your new toy. As for local dealers, not knowing exactly where you are (Tn. is a big place) try asking local dealers, they usually know. Karl.

Hi, Im new to this forum. I am a CL3 manufacturer in Middle Tennessee and can supply you with a .22 suppressor. Ours is 1"x6" and weighs just 4 ounces. It is threaded 1/2x28TPI and we can supply threaded barrles for a variety of firearms. Sound suppression is fantastic! About all you hear is the firing pin drop and the action of the gun cycling. Give me an email for details.
