Wow, that's quite striking. I like strong photos, and although I gravitate toward B&W (which is an extreme in its own right), I find some explosion of color quite interesting.

Where was it taken?

Gooseberry Reservoir, Wasatch Plateau (about 8500') (direction of shot almost due east, taken at sunset)

There have been several fires burning nearby, so when the sun is getting near the (smoky) horizon, the light is really, really warm.

How much PSing did you do? The colors are incredible. Are they natural?

Actually not too much on this one. I shot it on 'vivid' in the camera, and played with the brightness/contrast.


It came out of the camera already really 'warm', so I didn't mess around with the colors/saturation.
