I did the EMSAT online training this morning at 0600 {LONG story} about "Tasers, Pepper Spray, and Other Unpleasant Events". Well, any way, the guest speaker is a Virginia State Trooper as well as an EMT-I. The host asked him about private ownership of TASERs, since he had already said that a lot of civilians buy Pepper Spray. He told the host that you can buy a TASER or Stun Gun, but that it CANNOT be concealed, since it is classed as a weapon. Which makes sense. BUT, what IF you have a CHP?!?!? Can you carry one as a spectrum of force option along with a concealed handgun?!?!?

No.

A CHP only lets you carry a concealed handgun, not any other weapon like those enumerated under 18.2-308 (Chinese throwing stars, machetes, switchblades, etc).

I always give a TASER demo during our intermediate level handgun classes. If you would like to see or experience one, let me know. :)
