Hi all!

I'm in search of info on ranges on the eastern and northern sides/edges of the KCMO area.

I'm familiar with the geography around here as I lived here a couple of years in the mid-90's, but don't know where the ranges are. Currently DH and I are FT RVing in the area. Another FT RVer friend of mine and I would like to find a place nearby to practice. We're going to be wintering in the area and figure we might as well make the most of the time doing something productive. :-)

TIA for your help!

Welcome to KCMO.

There is an indoor range in Kearny. Just north of Liberty, MO.
There is also an indoor range in Claycomo (by worlds of fun off 435 and 69 HWY) It is called Showmeshooters. I can recommend both of these indoor ranges. Good people at both.

There is an outdoor range in Blue Springs. Off Hwy 7. I forget the name of it though. I think it is a State run facility.

It is the lake city range run by the DOC.

Don't forget the indoor range, Crossfire, on East Truman.....

Thanks! I'll look into these.

We've been to Lake City which is very convenient as far as where we're located, but it's cold and wet a bit much lately.

If anybody else knows of others I'm still making up a list of places to check out.

Also, don't overlook the many outdoor ranges throughout the state. You can get more information at the main Web site www.mo.gov (http://www.mo.gov).

The complete list is too long to paste here, but this will give you an idea:

there was a nice indoor range my dad belonged to over in overland park. it was prety nice but i cant remember the name of it right now. its in the neighborhood of 95th and Nall. little bit west of where you are looking though.

Lake City should be pretty good. my guard company pulled homeland security detail there back in 01-02.

if you even make it down south, there was a great outdoor range between springfield and branson. its behind a rock quarry and is run by F&W but its unsupervised.

To elaborate on my prior post, mo.gov, then Hunting--Trapping, then Shooting Ranges on Conservation Areas.

Here is the downloadable publication file for the complete list and regulations:
