View Full Version : Regarding the future of the Buy & Sell threads

Hi, all.

As you may know, I'd already walked away from working at this site.
Unfortunately my online GT status hasn't been updated, and furthermore
I've been specifically directed to address this issue, as a mod.

Mahiya naman tayo.
In all of GlockTalk, BoG alone has been allowed the conditional privilege
of having its own little Buy & Sell, while other GT members have to post
in the Want Ads forums. We've clearly abused the privilege twofold:

1. Commercial firearms outlets have been posting their firearm-related
wares in the BoG "Buy & Sell" threads, something the site owner has
warned against. If commercial outfits want to market stuff, they can buy
a GT ad banner. That's how GT makes ends meet, and giving commercial
outfits a backdoor simply cheats GT out of badly-needed funds. If you
can't afford a GT banner, then sign up for the Gunstore Directory: it's
not as visible, but it's free. There are plenty of responsible shopowners
on BoG, like Laiza of MetroSportingArms, Dino of WSC, and still others
who don't abuse GlockTalk's free forum services. Kung pailan-ilang
article, puedeng sabihing personal item ninyo yun, na binebenta ninyo,
kahit pa may-ari or empleado kayo ng gunstore. Pero naman... kung puro
mga brand-new atsaka napakarami pa ng items ...*sigh*.
Kaunting diskarte naman.

2. Illegal articles have been offered and bought in the BoG "Buy & Sell"
threads. I'm talking about Government Arsenal ammo, for which there is
no legal mechanism to allow commercial retail. Illegal activity is something
the site owner has strongly warned against. Any more of this nonsense
and the "Buy & Sell" threads will cease to exist here. Offenders may
be banned, and PNP-FED will be alerted.

There is a reason why I used to post conditions at the very beginning of
quite a number of past "Buy & Sell" threads; and I urge anyone taking it
upon themselves to start a new thread, to state those conditions sa
unang post pa lang:

CONDITIONS:

1. Kindly do not advertise or request merchandise of dubious legality,
including AFP or PNP service-issue firearms and ammo from the GA/BMP,
for which there is no clear, legal mechanism for entry into the
commercial marketplace. If old service arms have been amnestied for
private ownership, indicate so.

2. Posting by commercial firearms dealers (as such) is discouraged.
This thread is for ordinary firearm owners who are members of GT-BoG.
Commercial entities are encouraged to advertise the proper way, by
paying for GT banner ads.

3. Refrain from spamming or post-flooding. Post an ad just once.

4. Size your photos considerately. If they are too large or wide, they
will be deleted by moderators.

Have a nice day,
h.

Illegal ba ang pagbenta ng MRE na US issue?

Illegal ba ang pagbenta ng MRE na US issue?

Funny guy ka na naman, Allegra?

They're legally sold from Army-Surplus stores in the U.S., so...
I don't see how it'd be illegal here, unless the MRE's had been stolen
from U.S. aid, EDA or other (even so, how to show they were stolen?).

+1..to the guilty parties, this can end in two ways:

1. the forum owners shut you down.
2. you voluntarily shut down and just email us your wares, or get a multiply account..

of course we prefer no. 2, we like hanging out in this forum. :-)

tulog na ulit ako

That's the K-ration. Even comes with its own can-opener. Ah, the turkey, I loved to read the ingredients, turkey meat, turkey skin... There's also the C-ration.

When the MRE came out it was instantly dubbed as Meals, Rejected by Ethiopians, (you know, We Are The World) A novel way of heating it described by Tom Clancy was to drop it into the exhaust pipe of an idling HET (Heavy Equipment Transporter), wait a while, then have the driver gun the engine, it would pop out heated na. There used to be plenty at Dau.

Point is, if you come across a K-ration box, it's "aprub" for the Buy and Sell thread, as it could no longer be considered contraband as the US military stopped issuing them long long ago. Hope the turkey is still edible. The sliced ham is great.

Ammo, on the other hand... I really wish the government will officially demob ancient ammo stocks and sell them to us shooters, heck of a way to raise funds and ensure ammo issued is the newest. That's what other militaries do, except the US, courtesy of Bill Clinton. As it were, we're stuck with the underpowered Armscor.

i think it was called c-ration cos there was also a-ration, b-ration etc.
