View Full Version : Stock for Saiga 12 Conversion...
I am having an conversion done. My choices are a standard Tapco AK Bulgarian stock, a T6 collapsible or a CAA AR style collapsible.
Which one ?
I am also posting this in the AK sub-forum.
I can't comment on the collapsing stocks, I will say that if you go with a standard, get one of these..http://www.urbanertslings.com/repadforakty.html
Just finished working and test firing my Saiga S12.
I put an ACE Folding stock on it, purchased all equipment from Carolina Shooting Supply. LOVE MY S12!!!!!!
Im not a big fan of the Tapco T6 or CAA stocks but if thats what you like, then go for it. The Tapco fixed stock is ok. The KVAR fixed stock is nicer. Or you can put a skeleton stock on it with a receiver adapter. ACE, Tromix, DPH Arms and Mississippi Auto Arms has some nice ones.
If you want collapsing over folding, get the CAA stock as it has an aluminum tube and is well built.
You should use a standard AK-100 type stock from K-VAR.
I don't believe CAA products are made in the USA, and ergo will count against your compliance parts.
Some of the CAA products now that it's EMA Tactical will be made in the US, heck even UTG is offering a line of 922r US compliance parts, and on average there like $10 more.
Besides he can compensate for a foreign made but-stock with another US part else where.
For the Record, I went folding and went with a Tromix stock, ACE hinge, and Tromix block. And I would recommend that to everyone.
