I'm new to the springs and some guys from the shop and I are looking for a place to hunt pdogs, and coyotees. Can any one give me some info on public land that might be available to hunt on near the springs? If this a repost sorry...
Glenwood or Colorado springs?

Colorado Springs, I'm just looking for a place that's not too far away... I'm thinking no more than two hrs drive...
I live in Junction that's about 4 hrs. Have you ever been here? It's a big valley with mountains on every side the north side is all desert and great for hunting. Sorry but this is all I know about. I'm sure you can find a place in this state, maybe ask the local DOW?
Head south or east and ask just about any rancher if you can have permission to hunt. Some guys are a bit touchy, but most are more than happy to have you there.
To be completely honest, I havent looked for public land.
To practice up for PD hunting, you might want to give our PD matches a try in Pueblo. Life size steel prairie dogs from 200-425 yards. 40 rounds. $10 match fee. The last time I went out PD hunting, I slaughtered them. Inside 350 yards my hit rate was over 75-80%. Past that 50-60%.
