Fafas,
My boss is looking for a new mpv/suv/van that would seat 5-6 people comfortably
His choices are yung fortuner, allterra, montero, everest or starex
Major concerns are maintenance, fuel economy , reliablity ( the guy is cheap ! wag nyo ko isumbong ). Looks not as important , though resale value is
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Fortuner is the looks only but I dont like it as matagtag... I think should consider a Montero or what about an Odyssey?

Naconsider na rin innova and starex , kaso SUV kailangan pang probinsya kasi

There are some people that say the supply pump of the Innova (diesel) has had issues because of the supposedly dirty diesel that is being supplied in the country. Some choose the Avanza because of its good fuel economy.

I, personally would choose the Isuzu Crosswind. The 4JA1 engine has a very good track record and very good on fuel.

I think he need something bigger than a crosswind
Sakin yata bagay ang crosswind , allergic ako sa gas station :)

Went to tsikot , and a lot are divided between the pro fortuner and the pro montero crowd
Kaso cant make out if they are just fanatics of the car they own, kasi maiinit agad mga ulo if someone criticizes their ride

Pogi ng bagong everest , but mababa daw resale

Your friend might want to include Hyundai Santa Fe in the selection.
Used to be 'junk kind' but in just a few short years has become a brand to reckon. My mother-in-law is driving one and has yet to hear any grumbling.

Look here for specs (http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/santafe/santafe.aspx)

They rake-in some serious $$$ during the 'cash for clunkers' program a few months back. Also, their first salvo into the luxury sedan is quite impressive. I had to eyeball their Genesis (http://www.hyundaigenesis.com/sedan/) and I can say, a few more tweaks in the coming years and I bet it will make Lexus, Infiniti and other European cars lose some market.

'nga lang, hindi pa maganda resale value.

fafa, pogi montero. although doubtful ako sa power ng 4x2 variant 2.5L CRDI.

current delivery times nasa 3-4months daw unless financing ka or malakas sa dealer.

Montero Sport Php 1.33 million
Toyota Fortuner Php 1.448 million
Isuzu Alterra Php 1.585 million
Hyundai Santa Fe Php 1.528 million
Ford Everest Php 1.320 million

alam mo naman na die-hard isuzu fan ako when it comes to diesel fed vehicles. we have 5 isuzu vehicles sa family namin! LOL!

Master A, Isuzu xwind Sportivo pinaka mura na SUV/AUV na roomy , sa MPV naman Innova 7-8 seater , 2.0 to 2.5 models like J, E, G, V.

Altera is masikip but OK na for 5-6 people na cute like me, it's basically a shortened and closed DMAX.

Im also seaching for a new car try to check this site baka makatulong din sa boss mo.

I can only comment with Mitsubishi, even if malakas ka sa dealer, it is very difficult to source stock as distributors are given limited numbers for distribution in the country and dealers get their share of the entitlement. This has been a complaint by dealers and I understand a few years back, the Montero sport was very popular and yet limited in quantity, that customers were not willing to wait and so lost sales.

If you need a contact with a Mits. dealer, I know one of the owners, hopefully can assist.

I'd go for Everest sir...big space and nice handling. Sabi ng Ford Manila, the new Everest has a consumption of 15 km/liter daw....city driving! not sure if true but Everest will be worth buying...
