I've had the P238 for a while now. I've carried it a lot and fired several hundred rounds through it. In short, it's the best all around pistol that I've found for concealed carry. You can view photos and the full review at my website, http://digitalperspective.org/SIGSauerP238.aspx.

I highly recommend the P238 if you need a highly concealable gun but don't want to sacrifice accuracy. Of course, as with any gun your mileage may vary.

Same here. I purchased mine about a month ago and have put through over 300 rounds and never a problem. It field strips just like a 1911 and it's comfort level is superior to the KelTes and Bersa's. The recoil is negligable and, with the in the dark glowing sites, it's pleasure to fire. I recommend it highly.

I've had mine since August and the only problem was the wrong size rear NS, 8 and not 6. Sent it back a week ago for replacement. Hope to have it back this week so I can put a couple hundred more rounds down range.

Mine too has an 8 rear sight. How did you know it should be a 6? What's the difference? I'm happy with my groups at 30 feet but at 50 they are a little low. If the rear sight is too low that would explain it.

Got the info reading Sig Forum. Got the slide back today.

I purchased a pocket holster from El Paso Saddlery and it's great. Not expensive and delivery was fast. I carry either in my jacket or pant pocket. Works great either way.

I think you can find negative posts for *any* product. I feel bad for those few owners with problems. But, my P238 has been perfect. My 372 series LCP is is 100% - but don't ask about the early ones.

dave - but we've had some lemons too

I understand reading negative posts. I have never seen a barrel as beat up as that one. That P238 was beating itself to a mess.

This barrel has 30 times the milage as that P238 barrel.

...and in a perfect world this kinda stuff would never happen. A good vendor should make good on their product - some do, some don't. Ask me about krups coffee makers...but I digress.
Getting problems resolved can be a royal PITA. Sometimes things just don't work out. Take our losses and move on. Never buy or reccomend a certain product.
If I only looked at the first LCP problems I would never touch that product. But Ruger seems to have gotten their act together. My LCP is fine. My Sig P238 is fine.
I sent a pistol back to S&W - it's better now, but not up to my expectations. OK. Not worth posting about but I'm not paying atention to their products either. Their loss.
I hope these owners get their problems resolved. If so I hope they will also post the final (positive) result. The internet/forums are a great tool but like all tools, need to be used properly.
