Won't work. The G17 receiver and the G18 slide are not compatible parts.

He said:

So I took that to mean using a slide that would normally go on that frame and alter the gun to make it full auto. Assuming the G18 was only a reference him making this full auto.

That being said I'm not sure what it would take to put a G18 selector switch into a G17L/G34 slide, or if that is even possible. I'm sure with some brilliant gunsmithing anything is possible. I'm aware of aftermarket selector switches like the one posted a few up that would work fine.

Lucky to be able to have such an item for sure!

we have a gunsmith here that does the selector same as the 18 mounted to the side of the frame . on any glock my question was since im going to use a 17L slide with a extended/ threaded barrell and a 3 port comp , i am beinng issued a mac11 i find this to big to carry ,and is very ard to shoot accurately ,i will use this as a machine pistol, im not going to lug a mac11 all day long

I'd suggest using a G34 slide, the G17L slide has a weight reduction cut out that would probably be in the way.....and it may not hold up well to all the full auto shooting either (due to the cuts).

Thanks!

G34 slides have lightening cuts too, but they aren't the same as the G17L slide cuts.

But now that I think about it, I wonder if 'modern' G17L slides are cut the same way as mine is.....mine is a first generation G17L.....might have to start a new thread to find some members with second and third gen G17L's to see if they're cut the same way as mine.

thanks for the info i do agree that the 17L slide would not last the full auto yup g34 would do good will order the stuff and will post soon

Apparently the current ones are cut the same way as the first ones are. Click-> http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1160861

I thought that the NFA made it illegal for individuals to create a machine gun..are these legal for the average citizen?

That all depends where you live. The OP lives in Manila, that's in the Phillippines. In the U.S. of course not.

glocks here are very expensive a glock 18 would cost you around 6000.00usd and they are not readily available a glock 17 is 1000usd and glock does not sell to the philippines cause some gun dealer screwed up .well life goes on
i ordered the slide and barrel from a gunsmith here looks like january to feb to finish the gun

well merry christmas to you all, may this next year be better than this year for all of us

Yes they are the same in my 3rd gen.

the slides should all be treated the same and have the same hardness. the longer slides are lightened so they will cycle reliably, no reason they should not handle full auto.
