Only one I've actually used is a FUG, and I loved it. Anyone know how the Tango Down, Troy, and Bobro stubbies compare to the FUG? I don't really care about the QD mount, I just want something that will be durable and stay solid.

I prefer the Tango Down ones myself. I've run them on both a SAW, and my M-4. Now I run one on my AR-15.
guess I need to break down and take some new pictures.

The Tango Down as RMTactical posted is outstanding.
All those you mentioned are top notch. I like the FUG for the QD, but TD has a QD stubby as well.

Anyone mess with the Troy? I've not heard anything about it.
Bobro's shorty VFG with quick disconnect feature rocks. rock solid too.

Solid is my first priority, price and method of attachment are secondary.

Larue FUG is my favorite VFG by far.
I've got both the FUG and the TD stubby. I like both a lot, and aside from the QD on the FUG, I like the TD a little better. Just not a big fan of the flat sides on the FUG.

Another vote for the TD Quick-Detach Shorty (http://suburbansdomain.blogspot.com/2009/12/tangodown-stubby-qd-vertical-foregrip.html).

I run a TD stubby with QD and really like it. I have a Magpul angled foregrip on its way to try out, it might fit my shooting style better.

I would have to vote for TD myself. I have to say the Larue FUG is awesome as well. Have not tried a Bobro shorty but am currently trying to get a hold of one.

TD and LaRue are by far the most popular and both have a great reputation. If you want something QD the LaRue QD system probably is more widely used, although I probably would rather have something more solid/permenant for a foregrip.

I went with the TD QD, and am well pleased. Might try an AFG though, they look comfy.
