What it doesn't say is why? Choose the ehaviest shot charge in a magnum load & there you go.:dunno:

I like recoil. Will that acually yield the highest recoil? I've noticed certain brands seem to have more recoil with the same loading.

2 1/4 oz of lead in a magnum load kicks quite nicely. I haven't tried hevi-shot though.

Almost anything with 1 7/8oz worth of shot will put the boots to you.

You can tinker w/ diff powders to soften recoil but it's a physics thing: Vel. x bullet/powder mass divided by gun wt. So the greater the mass & higher the vel. the grteater the recoil. A 1oz slug is about all the recoil I want out of a SG. If I want more, I go shoot a big bore rifle.:wow:

Ah to be young and Dumb and full of you know what!!! Yea go ahead and beat the snot out of yourself! :faint:Then in 20 years and a few shoulder surguries you figure it out!!:whistling: Never wanted or needed a 3.5" 12 ga!
I even gave up on 3" loads as they are not needed! I found through reloading that a 2 3/4" heavy load 1.25/.5 oz would kill any turkey/goose just as dead as any 3-3.5" load with a hell of lot less recoil! They also patterned way better!

Any 3 1/2 inch load shot from a Benelli Nova. In fact, any size shell shot from the before mentioned gun.

I'll never shoot another one again and still cry for my mommy at the sight of one.

Funny you should mention the Benelli Nova, as thats the shotgun I am shooting 3 1/2's out of.
