Heres your chance to post some AK magazine porn.

This is probably going to sound stupid but why do you have so many?I have 11 and they are all loaded so I think that is plenty.Do you have enough ammo to fill all those?

Collecting is a degenerate flu-like sickness/addiction.
Ask CarlosC if he has found a cure yet?

Yes, I got plenty of ammo to do that.

I have ten 30's and one drum which is more then I can carry so I think it's plenty. If I need more than 375 rounds without reloading a mag then I'm screwed.

Collecting guns is an addiction and one that I have recognized. That's the first step...right? That's where I terminated my 12-step program because I learned to accept my addiction and live with it. It's difficult, but I can handle it.

Now this may come as a surprise to you guys, but I don't really have a lot of magazines. I have a spreadsheet somewhere that I use to keep track of them, but I think it is outdated. At some point, I had to make up my mind on how many mags was good enough for each gun I own. Most of my pistols have 5 or 6 magazines, except the single stacks where I only have 2 or 3 each. I have 5 or more magazines for most of my rifles except my Enfields, which only have one each, but they're actually supposed to be stripper clip fed into the magazines. I am guessing I have maybe 10 guns that don't use magazines, so figure the other 38 have maybe 5 average, so that works out to about 190 magazines. It seems like a lot, but not when you space them out per gun.

There's just something about accumulating large quantities of AK mags. Maybe it's the variety of mags. I don't know.

I have around 160 myself for 6 AKs.

The Bulgarian circle 10 waffles are getting harder to find. Once they're gone, all other polymer AK mags are a distant second. K-VAR just got some more in at $33 each. Not sure I would buy them at that price.

IMO the current best buy are the new-in-the-bag steel Bulgarian 30-rounders at $15 each or a little less.

160 man I am slacking

I got my black Bulgarian waffles for $8 each from Joeken Firearms.
I didn't understand at the time why one of the two owners told me they would never get another supply of these ever again. If I would have known, I would have bought 50 of these at that time. The next time I called to order some more they were all sold out.

Does anyone know what is the "appropriate" number of mags to have per rifle? 20,30.......? I'm sure some of the instructors at the various schools have a recommendation, but for me, I buy as many as I can afford, and make sure I have ammo to go in them.

To the OP, nice spread of mags!

Minimum of 10, but there is no such thing as having too many, and they ARE an investment because their prices do increase...

Yes, you are a shameless degenerate (like me) with a terrible addiction.

My prescription: Buy more AK rifles until you get to only 10 mags per rifle (a reasonable amount). You're cured

I have a few for each rifle. My preference is 20rnd Hungarians.

I would love to see a write up of all the differences between the magazines.

I would also be interested in something like this. I have absolutely no idea what the differences are. To me, a steel mag is a steel mag. I just don't know any better at this point. I'm sure this will change though, as I've only owned an AK for 3 days now and only have one mag.
