What rounds do you carry for selfdefense? why?

It is by far one of the most accurate loads out there. Just recently switched to it from Hornady TAP 155gr. The double tap 135gr is a bit louder than the hornady but oh well.

I carry what load from this list works best in my G23.

Im not very familiar with that company. Is that like someone that reloads? Or what? They seem to have higher velocities than normal. Tell me about them

Is that round legal everywhere? (for civilians)

It's legal as long as you can own hollowpoint ammunition where you live.

If I recall correctly, the person that started the company was a member here that started offering hot loads in 10mm and then expanded to other calibers. Most of his loads are faster and more powerful than any "factory" load, yet still within specs.
winchester Ranger T, 180 gr. and Federal HST, 160 gr. both work well with my G27 and G23.

Winchester 180gr PDX1. It't the new FBI duty ammo and I've been extremely happy with it. JMO
Back in my .40sw days, anything reputable in 180gr: Gold Dot, HST, Ranger, Golden Saber, etc.
Those 155gr and 165gr loads are hot stuff. Too much "snap" on the recoil while offering nothing in performance IMO.
165 or 180 Ranger T or HST
180 Gold Dot or Saber
165gr Ranger T
Because that's what I have.
Currently Speer Gold Dot 165gr for my 23.

I like Hornady 155gr HP/XTP over 8.0 gr of Longshot in R-P brass and Federal primers.

I carry Federal 165gr HST. As for a reason? I'll let you know if I ever have to shoot someone.
Howdy,
I carry a mixture of old Win 180gr BT and Fed 135gr Hydra-Shok.

I own a G23, but really do not carry it. I carry a 1911 45acp most of the time. BUT, that being said. when I do take out the G23, I use ranger 180 gr bonded, or the winchester PDX1 in 180gr. I like heavy for caliber ammo, and i do feel as though these two rounds offer enough to make me feel secure in carrying this caliber.

I've selected 2 for a recently acquired G23...
1) plain white 50 round box marked 'Winchester 180gr Bonded JHP' w/ nickel plated cases, sealed primers, and the rounds appear to be Bonded PDX-1
2) 50 round box of Remington UMC using the older designed 180gr jhp; also loaded in their Express line
