This is when the snubby shines in a outside winter coat pocket fast and easy to get to and you can fire it in the pocket. Always ready and a perfect ECQ,(exteme, close, quarters) defence weapon. 6 feet and closing with reaction time bringing it to close to or contact dance of death. This is the real street combat fast, close and in this 6feet or contact zone.

I never put them away. Today it was my SP101 DAO in the Left front pocket. Taurus 650 Right side OWB. Just for grins I put my NAA 22 Mag in my shirt pocket.

Another plus for snubbies in winter (or any other season) is you don't have to scratch through the snow and ice to retrieve your spent brass.

I mostly carry my G23 with an IWB holster for the winter but I do sometimes carry my 340PD in a pocket holster if I am just going up to the store or gas station.

Sometimes just to feel on the naughty side I will carry both, it makes for a faster reload. :embarassed:

With coat on and winter garments IWB can be very slow and hard to get to in close fighting. It can get you pinned so you can,t even draw your weapon. Here the outside pocket and snubby can safe your life. If you do IWB as a second gun it lets you fight your way to the IWB weapon as a New york reload and cover to get at it. I seen a fellow get his coat pulled down and pin his arms .Making his IWB useless and get stabbed like a pin cushion. Before he could be helped.

Funny that as the weather gets colder and the clothing gets bigger, the gun gets smaller. I can carry an enormous thunderblaster unnoticed beneath that big winter coat, but the dang thing is worthless if I can't get to it.

+1 for the snubby(s) in the coat pocket.

More and people are learning that big mega mag auto is a good service weapon, but for the street and ccw the snubby is gueen for staying alive.

All I carry is a snubbie...S&W 442. In the house the handgun of choice is a S&W 64. There is also a Browning A5 loaded with LE Buckshot in the closet.

I took my Colt Detective Special out on the trail the other day and my Ruger SP 101 today. Nice to have a snubby along when on snow shoes.

The only thing better than a snubby in the pocket is two snubbys one in each pocket.

I just stopped in the Stop 'n' Rob last night. My snubby (442) rode shotgun in my parka pocket.

I never leave the house without a snubbie, even if it is filling the role as a BUG. They are just too handy and easy to carry/access.
