Range report 1-4-10
Guns tested. Colt Law Enforcement Carbine and Daniel Defense M4 build.
I had Alaska Tactical in Anchorage install a Omega 12X rail on my Colt. I recently purchased a DD M4 upper from Bravo company and installed it on a lower I had. I sighted both guns in at 100 yards. I also shot a rifle qualification with the DDm4.
The Primary Arms red dot is holding up well. Its not a Aimpoint. The biggest cons I have found so far is the adjustment clicks are large 8 clicks moved the reticle approximately 8 inches at 100 yards. The dot size covers 7 inches at 100 yards. The attachment screw is hard to tighten and the metal is soft and easy to strip. The clarity seems fine to me. Not as good as the T1 but good. I prefer the Larue off set mount to the DD mount because the DD mount put the red dot just a little lower and its slower to pick up.
The Daniel Defense upper averaged 1.64 moa at 100 yards using the ACOG sight.
The Colt average 1.93 using the Aimpoint with a 3x magnifier. I have decided to sell my Aimpoint. My astigmatism make the dot look like a cluster of grapes. I don’t notice it so much when its not magnified but when it is its bad. I much prefer the Acog and my Swarovski scope. From now on I am going to use either variable power scopes or ACOGs with a red dot to the 1 oclock position. Just as the light was almost all gone I shot a rifle qualification with my DDm4.
