Ammo and exteme temperatures

I'm going to be driving to FL in a few weeks where I get to exercise my rights.

I'm going to be taking some ammo with me in the trunk. A few boxes of FMJ and a box of GDHP for my 26. I'm going to be driving from 10 degree weather to about 80 in a span of about 36 hours. Should I be concerned about exposing the ammo to such temperature changes?

Currently the ammo is in a cool climate controlled room. Is ok to keep the ammo in these extreme temperatures (below freeing in IL, scorching heat in the trunk in FL)

My guess is no. Ammo that has been in my trunk here for a few months seems to function just fine, and ammo that has gone from a checked bag in the airplane (seemed pretty cold) to the gound here in the summer (three degrees cooler than, but twelve percent more humid than the gates of hell) has functioned fine.

Are you shooting while there or taking so much ammo anticipating a small scale war? Temporary temp extremes should not have an advese affect on your ammo. I would not store it in the trunk idefinitely though. LOng term, bad.

I'm taking the FMJ to go to the range out there and I'm taking one box of gdhp (20 rounds)

I was also thinking of just putting the ammo in the back seat but figured the trunk would be safer.

I'm not sure I worry about it.

The brown truck they ship ammo in doesn't have temp control wheither it goes to Florida or Alaska.

BTW I see you are from Illinois. Nice brisk weather we are having....I walked outside yesterday and thought it's kinda warm today....at 20 degrees.
