"getting back in'?
Remington is unrelated to Remington Rand, of 1911A1-times.......

Later this month we'll know more. I hope it's really made in the USA of good quality parts.

I would like to see them reproduce a GI model like they made during WWII

Those were produced by a company that made typewriters {Remington Rand}, not the gun company. The gun company only made them during WWI.

Correct.

I'm inclined to agree with you gentlemen. I've only heard or Remington Rand making 1911's but the logo on that particular 1911 in the picture looks like the Remington firearms company logo, not the traditional Remington Rand roll marks you see on the old RR guns. I'm curious now, this begs further investigation!
Is that why the marking is different?

Two different guns.
Remington did build some early 1911s. Remington Rand built a few hundred thousand 1911A1s during WWII
That's interesting. I always thougt that Remington UMC and Remington the firearms manufaturer were one in the same company, just different divisions. Those RR's in the picture, are they yours? and what are they worth if you don't mind me asking?
Man, that gives a new meaning to "Chicago typewriter"...going to be hard to conceal without "printing" also, LOL!

there's a nice Remington Rand at one of the shops out here, even has the box.
too bad it's not for sale :(
With all the 1911mfgs now, you'd think there would be a glut and you could buy them $1/dozen. Tha'ts what I'm hoping for anyway!
Why do I keep hearing "Parts is parts" in my mind?

Since the guns haven't been released, it'll probably be a while before you see a picture.
