View Full Version : Old but new to me Colt
I picked this 1974 series 70 Colt Gov't model up a few days ago at my local gun shop. I like, it was a $550 consignment deal. I put the USGI grips on it for the meantime while I have some nice wood on the way.

Very good grab IMO. And I actually like it wearing the grips you have on it.

You could spend more on a 1911 ...but you would not get a better one. Overthehillguy

Considering what I spent and how well it shoots and performs, I agree!!

It is quite possible that Nixon was in office(still)when that pistol was made. That's "Ol' School Cool". Send more pics when you are done with any mods(I'd recommend very few IMHO). Good Luck! I have a circa 1984 Series 70 Gov't Model...LOVE IT!!
