I was at my local wal-mart tonight and found 2 cases of 50 round boxes of federal champion ammo for 9.47 per box. Is this a deal or no ????

19c a round plus tax.

I'm paying 32c a round plus tax for 125gr .38+P.

By ME it's a good deal. If I shot 9mm all of it would have followed me home.

I hate the idea of paying that much for 9mm. But in today's market, you're not going to find anything cheaper than that.

So is it a deal? I guess the answer is yes.

Given the pricing that we were seeing 6-8 months ago, it's very good.

Prices are continuing to fall so in a few months it may not be as good as it seems now.

I'd buy it. (if I needed ammo, that is)

I never see any of that at my WM's in Columbus. maybe .25 maybe .40 or .44. But I do see periodically (and get lucky too) to get Win115 WWB at Meijer 100rd boxes for under $20. .40's popping up to at a decent price as well.... but not at WM.

This wasnt actualy on the shelf. I ask the store clerk when they are getting it in and she said there is some ammo under the counter but she wasnt sure what it was and yes it was 2 cases of federal 9mm but i was only allowed 6 boxes of 50 so that was all i could afford anyhow so i got the 300 rounds for 60.51 out the door.

Won't really find any lower than that. Be happy that WM even had 9mm. Mine never does.

My Walmart had Federal 115gr 9mm for $8.99 box/ +tax.

I picked up 12 boxes in the morning (wife & I) and then went back for 6 more boxes in the late afternoon after I called my shootin buddies.

My walmart actually had in stock the WWB for $20.97 for 100 rounds. 3 boxes left, store policy limits 2 boxes of 1 caliber per person. Had to send the son to find mom to purchase the other box, the clerk then caved & sold it to me. They are now starting to stock more ammo, hurray!! :)

Thanks for the heads up. The local Walmart had Federal and WWB in 9MM tonight. Got my 6 boxes of Federal!!!

First of the Federal 9MM I've seen in about 2 months.

Checked my local WalMart this morning for some 9mm...No luck! I'm picking up my new Glock 17 on Friday. Gotta find some ammo. Only have around 150 rounds here at home!

Like Mark G., here in central NH, Wally World had WWB 100-rd. 9MM for $20.97.....when you can GET it!!!
Checked in today....no WWB, but they DID have 250-rd. packs of Remington UMC for $51 and change.....was looking for .45, so I didn't bite (I've got about 3K rounds of 9 now, and about 2K of .45....that'll have to do 'til I get rich again.....!!:whistling:)

Yeah, that's what they are carrying now. ATK (The company that owns Blazer/CCI/Speer/Federal/Etc.) replaced the Blazer line with Federal Champion.

Lucked out and picked up 10 boxes of the Federal Champion 115 Grain FMJ RN today at the Weaverville, NC Walmart for $9.87/50. No limit on number of boxes, they had about 12 boxes left. If I had the extra money I would have got the rest. Picking up my first Glock, a G17 on Monday. Now I have some ammo!

I see the same trend in the walmarts in my part of town; some 9mm here and there, but a whole lot of .40. I find the more rural stores that also sell guns tend to stock more ammo. When they don't have the Federal 9mm I'll grab the WWB 100 rd boxes

I've got two cases of .38s to replace before my ammo is even again. It'd be too much to hope for that they'd actually have THAT.
