Question on Win Ranger

I did search, and can't find what I'm looking for. Besides, there is only like 300 threads that have the words Winchester Ranger 180 gr...

Anyhow, I got a few boxes in a trade. They showed up all fine and dandy. Only I thought all the Ranger series was nickel plated brass. This stuff is just regular old brass. All the RA40TA 165 gr I have is nickel plated... but this RA40180HP is brass.

Is it suppose to be?

I did a quick google search, looking for a comparison. And looked around here.

you got a pic of the box they make base model loads that are Ranger but not the ranger T loads like the in 155 and 180 and I think 115 for 9mm they use a base model bullet. I just reread yours again I think you got a base model bullet type.

My camera went through the washer and dryer... so I don't have pictures.

It was some left over "duty" ammo from a LEO.

Black talons have a black bullet, and brass case.

If your ammo dosn't look like either of these, (notice the lobed bullets) you likely have ranger JHPs (left)
