Troy Front BUIS - Two questions...

I'm interested in this sight, but am uncertain about a few things.

First, how close are the dimensions of the sight blade to those of a standard (fixed) AR front sight? I ask because some pictures I've seen around the web seem to show a short and stumpy looking blade that doesn't look quite right to me. See an example here from BCM's site:

Other pictures more closely resemble a standard fixed sight in height, but still look a bit more "boxy" so to speak. Here:

Second, if you have all the time in the world and are shooting prone or off a rest, how close can you come to the accuracy of standard fixed sights when using a set of Troy front and rear BUIS. In other words, suppose I shoot 2" groups prone at 100 yards with my A2 AR with a fixed rear and front sight. All other things being equal, can I expect the same using Troy front and rear BUIS with the same sight radius.

I seem to recall that the stubby sights are for the XCR. I can shoot as accurately with my front and rear Troys as I can with A2 sights.

Troy sights are outstanding, I have shot 1.5" groups with a
Mega I built last year. I had Troy sights on it, love them!

So, do we know if the front sight blade is the same width as a standard fixed front sight? Do you see the same sight picture with Troy's?

With the M4 style Troy Battle Sight, you will have the same
sight picture as standard fixed sights. I could not find any info on
front sight pin demensions. I do believe they are the same size

The "Blade", or actual sight post, is the same on all available AR sights. The post screws into the base of the sight. Therefore, you can easily change it out, if you wish, to a National Match post if you want a thinner front post. In summary, the post on the troy sight is exactly the same part as the post on every other AR.

However, be aware that the Troy front sight only comes in rail height. It cannot be used on most gas blocks. Gas blocks -- generally -- require a higher sight mechanism. If you have a rail, the Troy is gtg.

I went with the HK type. I like the look better, and you can use the top of the ears for something, I need to do more research on that though.

I think when I read up on it (years ago), you could do some quick'n'dirty ranging with it. That would obviously vary by your sight radius, the farther out the front sight is, the closer together the ears would appear.
