Colt Targetsman

So I put this pistol in the safe years ago when it was handed down to me. I haven't shot it in years but If I remember right I think I experienced several fte during the first and last time I took it to the range. The front site appears to be bent a little too. I found a site that puts the serial number range right around 1966. I hear these are a pain to detail strip to inspect. Can someone lead me to a site with full info on these pistols? Can someone in Southern CA recommend a smith I can take this to if required?
