Ruger has paid a bit of attention to how shooters modify their guns.

They have a heavy barrel 10-22. They put scope rails on the Mark III.

Actually, I think that's where Ruger got the idea..... folks have been modifying their molded frames to accept 1911 style grips, like this one:

Mine is a bull barrel however I just got it back from the 'smith having the barel threaded and front sight moved back to accommodate my suppressor addiction :whistling:

Lots of MKIII 22/45 shooters over on RFC have modified the molded frames on their Rugers to accept 1911 grips.

I used Ed Brown Stainless-Steel 1911 Grip Screws and Grip Screw Bushings with the Hogue Rubber Finger Groove 1911 Grips.
