Hello all,
Does anyone know anything about the wolf jacketed soft point, 124 Grain. Is it comparable to the HP? better expansion in ballistic gelatin? any help is appreciated.

SP would be my choice for hunting or SD with X39. It feeds almost as well as FMJ (I havent had one problem) it functions much like any other SP hunting load. kindof mushrooming at the tip. HP X39 dosn't really work the same as HP handgun ammo. The petals are pretty brittle and don't expand as reliably as a SP. From what I understand HP bullets in this or other rifle calibers tend to help in flight, not in wounding. This because it removes some of the forward weight from the projectile.

H.P. steel jacket 7.62 X 39 does a lousey job of expanding.
If it does anything at all it will simply break up. Still, who wants to get shot with a Chi-Com rifle in the first place.
If the sucker hits bone, the bone will shatter sending shards of bone material thru out the boogymans body simply ruining his whole day.
The only saving grace to an AK is the fact that it can't be made to stop shooting.
It is minute of soldier accurate to 100 yards. Good 'nuff.

Double tap 7.62x39 ammo
It actually works like expanding ammo is suppose to and it feeds like FMJ.
By the way, if anyone's AK is minute of soldier at 100 yards there is something wrong with the gun.

Or the operator. I am no marksman by far, but I can still get groups of a few inches with the crappiest Wolf ammo at 100 yards and of about 1/4 inch 3-shot group at 25 yards. Both using iron sights.
