View Full Version : Need help with sling attachment on 870

Ok, I feel like a moron, but I need some help.

I have a slick 2 point sling thanks to Rocky Mountain Tactical. I also bought two of their HD quick detach sling swivels, thinking they would attach to my points on the magazine tube extension and Knoxx stock. I am wrong.

What adapters do I need to attach the sling?

My 870 and swivels are pictured below.

Sorry, could only fit one pic for some reason. Here is a picture of my exact 870, showing the mounting points on the stock and magazine tube extension.

You simply need Quick detach Swivels. I will swap you two new Police Quick Detach Swivels from Remington for those two. The Police Swivels will handle a wider sling then the standard swivels and of course fit the quick detach studs you have on the mag tube extension and the specops stock. My e-mail and contact info are on my web site in my signature line. I use the Rocky mountain slings and always refer my clients to his site so pitching in and correcting this is good for all of us.

Because many of these weapons double as sporting guns and are carried in the field just as one of mine was on Saturday.

Also, most of the Tactical Training Courses require a sling.

The OP has two new Remington LE QD swivels on the way to him so he can set up that Rocky Mountain sling.

Thanks for the information. Makes sense.

Precisely. Will be taking a tactical course next month. Don't plan on using it on my primary HD weapon though.

Thanks again JD! I owe you one. Those RMT quick release swivels are headed your way as well.
